Overview
Description
Private gated villa with pool in historic medieval hamlet in rural southwest France. Our 18th Century house oozes with charm, but is superbly well equipped as we are not fans of roughing it! Perfect for families (very well kitted out for kids and babies) or groups of friends as there’s loads of space and tons to do, whether it’s table tennis, pool table, table soccer and of course the 10m x 5m heated pool. All set in secure and private grounds with on site undercover parking for at least 4 cars. Visit us via ferry into Caen or St. Malo (4 hours drive), or fly into Poitiers (EasyJet) 40min drive. The superb beach at Chatelaillon is 1.5hrs drive, the wonderful Futuristic theme park at Poitiers is worth a visit, as are the many typically French markets close by. Immerse yourself in French life without the hordes..11 Reviews
Leave ReviewBeautiful large farmhouse with an amazing pool
By Michelle on 12-Jul-2025Absolutely loved staying here, - beds really comfortable and good quality linens. Great options for children too and well equipped with cots, cribs, highchairs, baby baths etc. There was an extra double bed in the master bedroom which worked well with us as accommodated a whole family with young kids. The outside space is stunning. Lots of different areas to dine be it on the terrace outside the kitchen, the pool area or under the pergola by the BBQ. There is a great field area for kids to run around and play ball. The games room is very well equipped with a pool table, table football and there was a table tennis table outside. Kitchen had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this property.
Unspoilt idyll
By Mary Crouch on 19-Jul-2025A really special place for three generations to relax. A most unusual house which worked well for everyone. We could be together or we could spread out. Our highlights were the outside dining area by the kitchen- really practical but cool and charming, and of course the fabulous pool. The house and the area ooze history and peace. The board games and the games room were well used plus an awful lot of reading from the great variety of books .
Beautiful house & grounds
By Parry Family on 02-Aug-2020This was the perfect house for us, and was situated in an absolutely beautiful hamlet, close to other very small but picturesque villages and towns. We wanted somewhere fairly remote with not many other people close by, and while this was in a village, it fit our needs perfectly. It is a very well set up house, with a great pool and other fun facilities which our kids really appreciated such as the pool table and table football. We barbecued every night and I was surprised how cool and airy the house was at night, even in hot weather. All in all a very comfortable, extremely pretty house with great facilities.. perfect for any large family or group who want to get away from it all.
Absolutely stunning
By Cal on 02-Sep-2022The property and grounds were beautiful and very well supplied with everything we needed. It is a very old building with high ceilings and beams, stone and wooden floors and steps, really stunning. We had great communication with the owner before and the lady who cleans the property on her behalf during our stay. I would definitely recommend the property to others and would love to revisit. Owner response: Really glad you enjoyed your holiday Caroline and thank you so much for your kind comments. Please do come and stay with us again, we always have special deals for our return guests.
Heaven!
By Rebecca Fields on 14-Aug-2023A slice of French heaven! The farmhouse is situated in an idyllic and quiet village location, near lots of sunflower fields. The house itself has lots of charm and is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The gardens are well maintained with the most wonderful pool and BBQ area. We stayed in July and the pool provided a welcome respite from the baking sun. It’s perfect for a large family who are looking to relax and unwind and we would high recommend Maison Fleur de Lis to others.
Already booked for next year, love this place
By S. Roberson on 12-Sep-2023Oh my goodness the kids had such a wonderful time in this lovely place, so much to do and much to explore. Obviously the pool and games room was a big hit but they were also very happy (as were we) by the huge selection of books for all ages. Thanks so much for a great stay, speak to you soon re next year. Owner response: Thank you, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay despite the super hot weather. I’ll be in touch nearer the time of your 2024 booking.
