Overview
Description
If you are looking to stay in a quiet location, accessible to explore Cornwall's landscape and beaches on the North and South coasts, you've found it! This comfortable, well designed barn has been proven to be a winner to our guests over the past few years. We have many annual returners. We are a small farm, now non-working except for a few chickens and three sheep plus the natural wildlife such as stouts, badgers and birds of prey. The two cottages, Rose and Bryony, were converted in 2011 from former cowsheds by the architect Nigel Stock. The design and furniture is contemporary with wooden floors, fresh colours and light.
The cottage is at one level with views across fields with a private west-facing deck including outdoor seating and barbecue. You are free to roam over our eight acres with a stunning view from the top taking in the span of Cornwall from north to south coasts.
Flexibility in accommodation is available for a larger family or a group of friends as we have an adjoining (sound proofed) door that will enable you to access both cottages should you want to.
For children we have a field with a swing and trampoline sunk into the ground and lots of space to explore and make dens. We are also close to many of Cornwall s finest beaches on the north, south and west coasts. The towns of Falmouth, Truro and Penryn are all close by. A perfect base for a Cornwall holiday.

Leave ReviewLovely cottage in a quiet location.
By Rachel on 07-Sep-2024Bryony Cottage was our home for a week, the cottage is a really good size, has everything you need with a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is ideally located for exploring lots of places in that part of Cornwall, it's close to Falmouth for supermarkets etc, lovely and quiet too with great views across the fields. We met Betsy a few times, who loves a tummy rub and laying in the sunshine. Booking was easy and communication throughout was good.
Lovely Cottage
By Sarah & David Murgatroyd on 08-Jun-2024We had a very enjoyable 2 weeks holiday at Bryony Cottage which was light, airy and extremely well fitted complete with Dish Washer and a Wash Drier a luxury one doesn't find in a holiday cottage. The cottage is situated in a peaceful rural spot just off a quiet country lane with super views of the open countryside and a good variety of wildlife including a pair of lovely foxes which entertained us most mornings and evenings. Kathryn and John were delightful hosts and supplied us with lovely fresh eggs from their 4 pet chickens. They also had 2 pet sheep Andrew and Vivian and not forgetting Betsey their dog who was the mother of 6 gorgeous 4 week old puppies (6 week old when we left). The cottage is ideal for dog owners as it has an enclosed garden and there are plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside. Getting around from the cottage was easy and the variety places to visit was endless to suite all tastes yes there is even a large Asda Superstore 2 miles away (cheap Petrol) plus all your needs. We can thoroughly recommend Bryony Cottage for a Brilliant relaxing holiday, one cannot fail to love it.
Wonderful stay in a Wonderful place
By Ali and Andy on 01-Jun-2024A warm welcome from the owners. The cottage is lovely and well catered with everything you could possibly need. The setting is truly beautiful surrounded by woodland. The location was perfect, within easy driving distance to amenities, beaches, attractions and in our case family. We even had family over for a barbecue as both cottages have their our own private deck and garden. I will be recommending this place to friends and family in the future and of course returning ourselves. I almost didn't want to give a review as I didn't want to give away such a magical little place.

The perfect hideaway
By Helen Melman on 11-May-2024Such a perfectly-designed cottage with the window in the bedroom being low enough to offer a wonderful view of the field, sheep and passing cows and from the side door a picture perfect view of bluebells and ferns. The bed was extremely comfy and the bedding top quality. It offered the ideal place to relax and was totally private with a little bit of decking outside. The kitchen and living area is spacious with a log burner and again the positioning of the patio doors allows you to sit at the table and enjoy the setting sun. A thoroughly enjoyable week. Thank you Kathryn.
Delightful country cottage.
By Susan and David Stocks. on 16-Mar-2024We spent a lovely relaxing week in Byrony Cottage in quiet peaceful countryside. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The owners were especially helpful but not at all intrusive. I would most definitely make this my place to stay when visiting Cornwall, and would certainly recommend it.
