Cedar-clad, single-storey villa, sleeps six, with aircon, wifi, two double bedrooms (one en-suite) and one twin, bathroom, utility room with a shower and washing machine, study, and spacious and airy open-plan kitchen, dining and living room. Glass doors open onto a wooden veranda and two outdoor dining areas. With a pretty, terraced garden and private swimming pool, the house is in a tranquil location on the edge of the medieval village of Soumartre, with breathtaking views over the hilly, forested Parc Régional and the vineyards of Faugères. It is a ten-minute drive to the cafés, shopping and supermarkets of Bédarieux,. The lovely valleys of the Orb and Mare rivers are close, and the forested mountains and gorges of the Haut-Languedoc. To the south, wide sandy beaches are 45 minutes away. Wind-surfing (Lac Salagou), golf, go-karting, river bathing, canoeing, rock climbing, and spectacular walks with views of the Pyrenees are all within easy reach. There are some fine restaurants locally, and in nearby Béziers, Sète, and Montpellier, with its vibrant cultural life.Bedroom Details

Leave ReviewWonderful stay in a peaceful setting
By Richard on 18-Aug-2025My wife and I spent a delightful three weeks in this lovely, spacious home with our daughter and one-year-old grandson. The house is well equipped, including a cot for the baby, and air-conditioned, and local amenities are all a short (10-5 minute) drive away. We all including baby Sacha made full use of the pool, and were able to enjoy tranquil aperitifs and dinners on one of the two terraces, each of which has a stunning view overlooking the forested hills of the Regional Nature Park on one side and vineyards on the other. Highly recommended - thank you Kim and Rob.

By Rachel E on 23-Jul-2025We had a great stay at Maison Vercoe, there are many great restaurants in the area, La Nona in Faugeres was exceptional and La Forge in Bedarieux which is a short distance away has a beautiful outside terrace with delicious food and wine too! We had some beautiful walks from the house particularly to the Faugeres windmills where the view across to the Pyranees was stunning. We will definitely return.
Peaceful spacious country house

Spacious main bedroom with French doors to deck with en suite. Beautiful pool with views over countryside. Fully equipped with everything needed to cook. Perfectly quiet so ideal for a relaxing stay. Nearby small towns have excellent restaurants and local markets and just 45 mins to the coast.
A beautiful stay in the French countryside

It had everything we needed with a great kitchen and dining spaces both outside and in and good sized bedrooms. The swimming pool was a great bonus too! Would recommend!!
Great property in peaceful location
By Pam & Graham T on 01-Aug-2023We have just spent a wonderful week at this property which is in an idyllic setting. It is a perfect place to go to relax and unwind as it is so peaceful. The house is very spacious, well maintained and well equipped. We very much enjoyed eating outside on the terrace and lazing by the pool taking in the breathtaking views all around. We travelled around outside the village visiting local towns, enjoying lovely food and tasting the wines of the area. The local vineyards are certainly worth visiting. We would certainly return to this property as there are some places we would still like to explore. Communication with the owners was excellent and the property description accurate. Highly recommended!
