Description
Railway Crossing Cottage is a charming detached stone cottage, situated in a peaceful rural location in The East Neuk of Fife, close to the villages of Crail and Anstruther. The cottage was originally a crossing keeper’s cottage on the now disused Anstruther to St. Andrews Railway. It has recently been beautifully and sensitively restored and extended by us, providing a cosy and warm holiday retreat for you, your family and friends. A perfect place to relax and unwind.There are 2 bedrooms at the property, a double room and a twin/double room, and a lovely characterful open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining area. The sitting area has a cosy log burner, wooden flooring and comfy leather sofas. The accommodation is very accessible, as it is all at ground floor level, with easy access to the garden via double patio doors.
There is a private hot tub on the decking area, with wonderful views to the surrounding countryside. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and is secure and fully fenced. There is a second sun terrace for relaxed dining, with a wooden table and chairs, sun loungers, sun parasol and barbeque. We have ample parking for 2 cars at the front of the cottage. The property is pet friendly and has the added benefit of free wi-fi. EPC = D
Railway Crossing Cottage is a perfect location for exploring the quaint fishing villages of The East Neuk, the historic town of St. Andrews and the scenic coastline of Fife. The nearby villages of Crail and Anstruther are wonderful for exploring, with their picturesque fishing harbours, great shopping, pubs/restaurants and numerous tourist attractions. Boat trips from Anstruther to The Isle of May are most popular.

Can''t praise enough
By Sue on 16-May-2022We all loved the cottage and especially the hot tub. Everything was clean and ready for use. Ian and Kate are fantastic hosts and respond quickly to any queries. The isolated position works well for us- away from artificial lights and the noise of day to day living. We have never been anywhere that has reflected our needs more
Great Place!
By Liz-Anne on 21-Mar-2022This was our 3rd visit here with our dogs. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area and just a short drive from Crail/Anstruther. The cottage is immaculate and the hot tub an added bonus for relaxing after a day out exploring. Lots of lovely beaches for walks with the dogs and St Andrews not far away either. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Relaxing Break
