Ardchattan is a stone cottage dating back to the 19th century situated on the Fort William road in the Highland region of Lochaber. The property overlooks a stoney beach, Loch Linnhe and the majestic Beinn Bheithir range of mountains.

To the south lie the villages of Ballachulish and famous Glencoe, home to Glencoe ski resort and mountains such as Aonach Eagach and Bidean nam Bian, all within 20 minutes' drive.

Stunning views across Loch Linnhe to the mountains beyond can be seen from the private decking area to the rear of the cottage, which is set within a large garden.

The centrally heated cottage has been renovated and provides comfortable accommodation for 4-6 people, consisting of one double bedroom, a second bedroom with two single beds and a double bed settee in the living room. The kitchen diner is a beautifully converted barn with large Velux windows, stone flooring and exposed stone feature wall. The spacious room is fitted with appliances, including electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave.

The living room boasts views to the front and rear, and offers a cosy environment with wood and coal burning stove, including wall-mounted TV with DVD player. Fast Wi-Fi access is also included, which can be used throughout the property. Well behaved dogs welcome. Please contact owner for details.

The cottage has a fully fitted bathroom with combined bath and shower with toilet and sink, along with a separate small WC.

Amazing cottage

By JUNE HUDSON on 25-Jun-2022

We throughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was very comfortable with lots of extras included. The view from the terrace was amazing. There is access to Loch Linnhe just near the garage by a metal gate. Husband and daughter went paddleboarding a few times on the loch and it was easy to carry the board across the road. Recommend the Bothy Bar at Kinlochleven for food and an amazing view down Loch Leven. Book early for ferry to Mull. It was pretty full up when we booked.

Lovely Holiday Cottage

This cottage is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! The views are amazing and the cottage itself is well kept and spotlessly clean! Its location is perfect with only a short drive to the nearest town.

Comfortable and convenient cottage

By Chris Green on 11-Sep-2021

The cottage is convenient being right next to the A82, so it wasn't wild but certainly convenient to get to and get to other places. Traffic was sometimes busy, but I didn't find the noise a problem inside as the walls are very thick. The cottage is quite spacious for four people and the kitchen-diner is well lit and a great place to sit while there is any light in the sky. It had been well cleaned. The cottage is described as having "stunning mountain and loch views" and the views from the front windows or the deck in the back garden were very good (and included Beinn a' Bheithir and Lochs Leven and Linnhe) - alternately stunning and moody - or sometimes both at once. Access to the beach was surprisingly quick and easy - either a scramble from the viewpoint near the fuel station or more gently from a point along the road almost opposite the Old Town road. The pebble beach is great for walking along with fantastic views of mountains, seascape, birds and even otters if you're lucky. There is scope for swimming from the gentle path end. We had a great holiday, which was partly related to weather, of course. But I do think that this cottage would be comfortable if you had to spend more time in it.
