Description
Accommodation DetailsClematis Cottage is a renovated cottage with stunning views in the centre of Fritchley, a peaceful unspoilt Derbyshire village. Whilst the cottage is self-catering, we do provide a few welcome essentials and nibbles for you on your arrival.
The cottage comprises of:
Downstairs Living
Downstairs there is the lounge, kitchen and main shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and other cleaning products are provided. The lounge has an Opti-myst electric fire.
Upstairs Accommodation
Sleeping up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom 2 singles.
A Jack and Jill style toilet and washbasin connects the two bedrooms. Bed linen and towels are included in your stay.
Entertainment
There is free WiFi at the cottage, NOWTV, DVDs, maps, games and various other things to entertain you if the Derbyshire weather is inclement.
Outdoor Area
There are enclosed gardens to the front and rear and numerous dog walks from right outside the door.
There is outdoor furniture and plenty of seating areas in both gardens and a small BBQ.
Dogs Welcome
We are dog-friendly and accept two well behaved dogs.
There is a £20 fee per dog per stay.
We ask that dogs are not left unattended at the cottage unless an arrangement is made with us.

By Melanie on 27-Mar-2024The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. It’s beautifully clean and cosy and very comfy. We took our dogs on some lovely local walks which they loved. I thought the location of the cottage was perfect too. We travelled by car to some great places and walked to others. We’re definitely coming back but will stay for longer this time as there were many local sights that we didn’t get to see on our short stay. Our host was so welcoming and friendly too. Can’t recommend enough.
We had a lovely stay in this cottage which provided everything we needed for a relaxing break.

We were made to feel comfortable and welcome by the owners. Thankyou for the lovely gifts and welcome pack. We thought the idea of the extra provisions and honesty box was a really good one if we were short on essential items. We would love to come back.
I have never stayed any where so clean and well equipped.

Not only were we catered for by leaving us bread, eggs, milk, wine etc, but also the dogs, who had a little bag of doggy treats waiting for them on arrival ! A fantastic property that had everything we needed and more!
By Tim on 15-Oct-2025The property has been sympathetically restored to a high standard and the furnishings and fixtures complement this perfectly. We received a lovely welcome from Annette and we were extremely grateful for the welcome goodies both for ourselves and our two dogs. Clematis Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District, or just stepping out of the door and walking along one of the many local footpaths. The outside space is secure and private and was perfect for our two dogs. The biggest compliment I can give the property is that it felt like a “home” and not a holiday let. We would definitely stay in Clematis Cottage again should we ever revisit Derbyshire.
