Overview

Description

The Oak is a well appointed, comfortable semi-detached bungalow set in the charming moorland village of Goathland in the North York Moors National Park. It is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful area of heather moorland, on foot or by car, and the stunning jurassic coastline around the famous coastal town of Whitby just 10 miles away.

Within walking distance of The Oak are tea rooms, a coffee shop and two hotels serving bar food and with full dining facilities. There is also a village shop selling basic provisions. Goathland Station, on the North York Moors Heritage Railway, is also a short walk away. Made famous by the Harry Potter films, enjoy the sight, sound and smell of steam locomotion or take a trip through the magnificent countryside to Whitby or Pickering.

The Oak has two bedrooms, one with a double bed the other with two single beds (2' 6'). The modern bathroom has a walk-in shower. Sheets and towels are provided. There is off-road parking for one car and a small, secure garden / patio with a beautiful view across field and moorland

Lovely stay at the Oak cottage.

By Garry Davey on 23-Jul-2022

A great stay at this little cottage tucked nicely away in a quiet cul-de-sac. The cottage was clean comfortable and had all the amenities you could want. The patio at the back had lovely views over the fields and moorland, we missed the best of the weather but that didn’t hinder what we wanted to do, some great walks and the added bonus of the NYMR, and a couple of nice places to eat ( but book early) they are really popular. I would recommend for a nice quiet relaxing break at any time of year.

A great little cottage

By Steve on 16-Jul-2022

A great cottage in a great location, the cottage was clean and had all amenities, my toddler particularly liked the field of sheep across from the back patio area. Communication from the host was prompt and clear and overall was great value for money in a beautiful area
