Stayed with a Group of Friends in this Stunning Spacious Cottage
By Pauline on 28-Jun-2024Stayed with a group of friends in this stunning spacious cottage, which had every amenity we required. The Barley Sheaf was a few minutes walk we enjoyed two lovely meals the drinks, food & service were of a good quality. The local shop post office was open every day & supplied fresh local produce as well as most basic requirements. It was easily drivable to Heligan with the gardens & farm shop as well as the Eden project. The nearby coastal town of Mevagissey was very pretty. Thank you Sharon we enjoyed our stay at Hillside cottage.
Very Nice Cottage in a Great Part of Cornwall
By Tali on 24-Aug-2024Very nice cottage in a great part of Cornwall. The house was clean and comfortable, and while two of the rooms are on the smaller side, for our family of four it was a good fit. Sharon was a very responsive host and sent a much appreciated recommendation for a local walk to see seals (which we did!). There was also a lovely welcome basket with everything for a Cornish cream tea. Overall we had a great week.

Lovely Cottage in a Peaceful and Beautiful Village Setting
By Becky on 16-May-2025Lovely cottage in a peaceful and beautiful village setting. Lots to do in the local area and an easy drive to supermarkets and restaurants and a great local shop and pub within 2 minutes walk. I would recommend the coastal walk from Portmellon back to Gorran Haven... beautiful scenery and tons of wildflowers. I would also recommend the Mevagissey to Fowey ferry for a great day out ...and we saw dolphins!!
Hillside Cottage is a Lovely Place to Stay
By Helen on 25-Oct-2024Hillside Cottage is a lovely place to stay, in a little Cornish village in beautiful rural surroundings. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and the log burner made the living room very cosy on chilly October evenings. On sunny days the conservatory was a great place to sit and relax. Sharon’s directions on how to find it were easy to follow and she always responded promptly to any questions we had. She gave us suggestions for local walks and places to go - the Mevagissey Shanty Festival was very enjoyable. Our daughter and 7 month old granddaughter stayed too and there was a cot and high chair available for her. I would definitely recommend Hillside Cottage.
