Description

East Roof is a converted barn with spectacular views situated in an elevated position near the village of Gunnerside. The area is famous for its Lead mining history and offers an abundance of walks straight from the door over the moors and along the valley bottom. Making it a perfect place for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by open countryside, East Roof offers a quiet and peaceful location. A 5 minute walk takes you to the unspoilt village of Gunnerside with it's locally owned pub serving good food. On a Friday night around 8.00pm the travelling fish and chip van comes into Gunnerside. A short car journey takes you to the villages of Muker and Reeth which offer good food, pubs and shops. The cottage has it's living space, toilet and 1 single bedroom on the ground floor with the other bedrooms on the lower ground floor, allowing you to enjoy the best of the fantastic views. The sitting room has an open coal fire with all fuel included in the rent. We have a stone built lockable store for your bikes.

KITCHEN Oven with integrated grill, electric hob, dish washer, fridge, (we also have another fridge in the outside stone store that I can turn on if required) Freezer, microwave, fire extinguisher and blanket. kettle and toaster. Dining table seating 6 people, Airing cupboard containing bath and hand towels. 3 windows to the south and north. Washable lino flooring.

SITTING ROOM Open fire with coal included, 3 piece suite and high backed chair, TV, DVD player, DVDs, games, non fiction and fiction books. 3 windows facing north, south and east.

SINGLE BEDROOM

TOILET and HAND SINK

STAIR GATE across the stairs leading to lower ground floor.

Guests are NOT permitted to charge their EVs using the electricity supply at the cottage. In the addition to the risk of leaving open windows and trailing leads none of the sockets have been certified as safe to charge a vehicle, even with the use of a Granny Charger. Please ask for nearest charging points before you travel.

Enjoyed staying in this comfortable roomy cottage with wonderful views in every direction. Absolutely loved exploring Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales. Would definitely love to return.

We all really like the place - the fact that you can walk straight out the house was great the countryside was beautiful - and the pub just down the road was a great resource.

Very comfortable stay in a great location on a quiet back road a short walk from Gunnerside. Stunning elevated views from all windows across Swaledale and a walled garden with picnic bench to enjoy sunny days. The cottage had excellent facilities with everything you could possibly want during your stay. Good parking and internet. Highly recommended!
