Description
Moatside Cottages overlook the moat surrounding Newtimber Place, a 17th Century manor house. They do have a shared garden but each has its own table and chairs and pegoda. They are fenced, but small children would have to be supervised as there is deep water the other side of the fence. They have been awarded 4 Star Gold for 2024 by the AA.This cottage has two bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin. It is on one level - no stairs - and has underfloor heating, provided by a heat pump which takes heat from the adjoining field to keep the cottage nice and warm in the winter.
It was originally the stables, and the sitting room has a tall ceiling with exposed oak beams. The main bedroom with kingsized bed has a shower/basin ensuite (the toilet is not-ensuite). The twin bedroom has a bathroom adjoining. There is an additional toilet in the utility room off the living room. There is a fully fitted kitchen with the usual appliances including freezer, microwave, washer/dryer machine and dishwasher. There is parking for 2 cars.
Towels, linen, central heating, hot water and electric are all included in the price (except for car charging). There is an EV charge point to charge your car - it's a 7.2KW mode 3 with a Type 2 socket so you'd need to bring your own lead. Due to the cost of electric, there is a charge for EV charging. We also include liquid soap, shower gel, washing up liquid, washing powder, tea and coffee etc We regret we cannot accept pets as sheep graze adjoining the cottage. We do not allow smoking inside the cottage.
We do have flexible changeover days but Fridays and Mondays are cheaper. It is not possible to display accurate prices here as the site is not compatible with the pricing mechanism used on our booking system but our website has accurate pricing and online booking.
