If you’re coming to Cornwall to enjoy the seaside then you’ll be spoilt for choice between the North and South coasts with several sandy beaches within a 10 minute drive!
The ancient market town of Marazion with St Michael’s Mount is under 4 miles away. Boasting a long sandy beach and breathtaking views, it’s a must visit during your stay.
St Ives is easily accessible and definitely worth taking the short train journey via the branch line from St Erth Station (a 5 minute drive away), taking in the fantastic views across Hayle’s 3 miles of golden sands along the way. Make memories as a family or take it easy as a couple, the barn lends itself to fun and relaxation in this special area of Cornwall.

The space
The Bank Barn is a spacious, modern, detached converted barn located in the beautiful countryside near St Erth. Tucked away down a lane, the self catering cottage is one of 4 available at Frythens Cottages. Located just a 5 minute drive from the A30, all the local beaches and attractions are within easy reach of the property, making it the perfect base for exploring Cornwall.

Ideal for couples, families or friends, the barn is versatile with a double bedroom, twin bedroom and single bedroom downstairs and kitchen/dining room and comfy living room with wood burner upstairs. With far reaching country views, why not enjoy alfresco dining or play some games, watching the sunset in your own private garden.

The barn offers modern living with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, including electric cooker with gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and all the essential pots, pans and equipment.

Snuggle up on the comfy corner sofa and watch TV in front of the fire (complementary first basket of logs during winter months) in the living room or just sit back and admire the view from the large upstairs window.

There is also an upstairs cloakroom and WC for your convenience.

Downstairs you will find three bedrooms, a king size with chest of drawers, twin with chest of drawers and a single. There is a cupboard with plenty of hanging space for all your clothes in the hallway.

The bathroom with shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail is also on the ground floor.

Perfect for families. Our 1 year old daughter loved the space

By Martin on 07-May-2023

The Barn was such a lovely place to stay. It was extremely clean and spacious. Perfect for families. Our 1 year old daughter loved the space. I asked Melanie for child gates in advance, and when we arrived, they were already installed. The directions provided by Melanie were spot on. We found the farm straight away from following the directions provided. For us, the location was perfect. Penzances, St Ives, Porthleven, Newlyn, and Gurnard''s Head were all within a 20-minute drive, and Truro was approximately 30 minutes away. The matress in the double room was a love-hate relationship. My wife loved it and even preferred it to our Tempur matress, where I, on the other hand, took longer to get comfortable on it. That said, I would defo recommend this for short or long stays. we absolutely loved the place.

The bathroom was good and the shower was great

Melanie gave clear instructions to find the place so our arrival was trouble free. When we had a problem putting up the travel cot, Melanie responded immediately and did it for us. The house was well furnished and equiped - just could have done with a large casserole dish or wok and some more microwaveable dishes. The bathroom was good and the shower was great - always hot and very powerful. We only ate out once in the pub in St Erth; the food there was OK and reasonably priced and staff were very pleasant. Melanie''s house is well placed for reaching all the surrounding beaches and attractions. A beautiful area.

We felt at home straight away

By Emma on 09-Apr-2023

Myself, my Husband and 3 children (13,11 and 8) have just spent a beautiful week staying at the barn. The place was very comfortable and beautifully clean. We felt at home straight away. Watching the sun set from the big window in the kitchen was always a pleasure. Melanie made some great suggestions for local places to visit. The location is ideal to access so many different places easily. We loved exploring the different beaches. Thanks for a wonderful holiday we have some beautiful memories for the bank ♡︎
