Description
Set high above the village of Colombières-sur-Orb in the Haut-Languedoc, this spacious 3-bedroom home offers peace, privacy and sweeping views across the valley and mountains. Surrounded by nature, with direct access to beautiful walking routes and nearby rivers and gorges, it’s an ideal base for families, hikers or anyone looking to unwind in a tranquil setting.The house is generously laid out, with two kitchens, two lounges and two bathrooms, plus an additional separate WC. Outside, you’ll find large gardens, a private pool, a shaded terrace perfect for ‘al fresco’ meals and a balcony for soaking up the scenery. The long private drive provides ample parking.
The village has a local shop for essentials and there are several excellent supermarkets a short drive away, along with a good choice of nearby restaurants. The pretty towns of Pézenas and Lodève, both with lively weekly markets, are around 45 minutes away, and the Mediterranean coast is just over an hour’s drive.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, there’s walking from the doorstep into the surrounding mountains, as well as riverside strolls and swimming at the Gorges de Colombières and the nearby Gorge d’Héric. Kayaking is available on the River Orb and water sports on Lac du Salagou. There are also other adventure activities nearby, such as canyoning and ziplining. Or simply relax by the pool and take in the peace and views.
The property is easily accessible from Béziers airport (45 minutes), Carcassonne (90 minutes) and Montpellier (approx. 1.5 hours).

Leave ReviewWonderful relaxing retreat

The setting is just beautiful with panoramic mountain views, terraces for dining and relaxing and a super pool which our Grandson particularly enjoyed. The property was well appointed with everything we could have wanted and the caretaker Birgitt was very helpful. The house is situated in the Orb valley with walks on the doorstep and stunning villages, rivers and lakes to visit. In addition it is but a short drive to market towns and slightly further to Montpelier. France lived up to its expectations with local fetes, delicious food, fantastic markets and time to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. Le Terrier provided a great base and so much more. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will return!

An idyllic getaway
By Jonathan on 28-Jun-2025We had a wonderful stay at Le Terrier. It's a lovely, spacious house in a remote area with breathtaking views. We loved walking in the mountains, kayaking on the Orb and the adventure park at Arbracadabranche. There are so many places to explore nearby and we found some wonderful places to eat, such as Fleur d'Olargues. We will definitely come again!
