Description

Birdwatchers will be in the prime location for the local bird reserves at Holme and Titchwell. Only a minutes drive to each, this lovely property is another one of our ‘tardis’ accommodations. Once inside guests will be surprised to find larger accommodation from the deceptive photos as the majority of the cottage is not defined in the external photo. In this Area of Outstanding Beauty, there is plenty to see and visit and what better place to stay to plan your days exploring with open countryside to the front and rear.

Very comfortably furnished and equipped, this cosy two storey retreat will be perfect for singles or couples wishing to escape for short breaks or weekly holidays at any time of year. There is off road parking, enclosed private patio garden with furniture to relax in and enjoy dining al fresco. Oil central heating throughout. No Pets allowed.

Ground floor; entrance into very spacious kitchen/dining room with lounge and staircase. Shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. First floor; triple aspect room with double bed and distant sea views.

Holme’s soft, sandy beach backed by sand dunes, has a handy car park and further along from there is the Bird Reserve The RSPB Bird Reserve at Titchwell is in the next village so not far to drive. Being only a few minutes away is the magnificent golf links at Old Hunstanton. The area is listed as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its haven of wildlife, places of interest plus the start of the ancient Peddars Way footpath taking a straight course to Thetford which is still accessible, and well worth a visit for exploring the local countryside. Holme is also where Seahenge was discovered; the 4,000 year old timbers were removed under a considerable amount of protest but it can now be seen in King’s Lynn museum. So besides birdwatching there are plenty of walks in the area to explore.

Thornham is a small coastal village 4 miles from Hunstanton and about 10 miles from Wells. There is a village shop, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The attractive and very popular harbour has a small car park and this area is a must for bird watchers and walkers alike. you can reach the sand dunes and soft beach from here which is about a mile's walk.

Only two miles inland from the coast at Brancaster Staithe is the very select village of Burnham Market where there are many excellent quality shops surrounding the picturesque village green, together with its restaurants, pubs and elegant houses. Titchwell Bird Reserve is just mile down the road and has a car park, walks, hides and Visitors Centre.

The exclusive villages of Brancaster, Brancaster Staithe and Burnham Overy staithe are all within easy reach by car, being only a few minutes drive away. Most have their own pubs, churches and village store/Post Office and properties in the brochure are not far from each of these. Most public houses in the area have their own special ales especially the centuries old smugglers inn, the Lifeboat at Thornham, which has a great selection of real ales. The whole area along this stretch of coast is famous for its scenic beauty and superb views over the local harbours and saltings and are a must for holidaymaker and bird watcher alike. There is also a vast selection of local produce including seafood. Holkham Hall is not far away and there is a very good choice of bird observatories and nature reserves within easy motoring or even biking distance. Sandringham House and Estate plus museum and gardens are an excellent opportunity for a whole day's exploring for all the family.

Please note: this property is only bookable for 7 nights or multiples thereof.

Liked walking to the village and on Coastal Path, bus also stops outside the cottage.
