Situated at the edge of the village and only seven miles from the Norfolk coast, Houghton Farmhouse is a wonderful 7 bedroom, 4 bathroom period farmhouse with plenty of character and it will comfortably sleep up to 18 people.

At this large house, the attractive gardens, with white picket fence to the front, measure roughly an acre in size and come complete with small orchard, and to the back, there is a substantially sized grassed area for games. A stone wall encompasses a good part of the garden, affording it almost complete privacy. Facilities within the garden include a separate games room with pool and table tennis, and also a heated indoor swimming pool in its own fenced area with a beautiful shepherd’s hut changing room. This really is a fabulous garden to relax in with your family and friends enjoying the long summer evenings and barbecues.

Upon entering Houghton Farmhouse, you immediately get a good sense of the nooks and crannies, and the character the property has; the old servant bells are still decoratively hanging on the wall and there is a lovely galleried staircase. The warm welcoming kitchen benefits from a lovely four oven AGA, a well stocked walk-in larder cupboard for crockery and glassware as well as plenty of cupboard storage space. There is a separate utility room with electrical goods and being tiled on the floor, an ideal area for any dogs staying. There is a nautical themed dining room to seat and cater for 18 diners and being situated next to the kitchen, this is ideally located when serving meals in the house. There is a comfortable sofa and a 'smart' TV in the lounge along with a woodburner for those colder winter evenings.

The bedroom set up at Houghton Farmhouse is suitable for most parties as there are two downstairs double bedrooms that share a bathroom, and then upstairs there are a further five bedrooms - four of which share two bathrooms and the other bedroom has its own ensuite. All bedrooms have crisp white Egyptian cotton linen and excellent quality duvets to ensure a lovely and relaxing night’s sleep.

The whole house has a wonderful feel about it and it is not long before your bags are unpacked and you are making full use of its space - Houghton Farmhouse is relaxing and perfect for a large group holiday.

The house is also perfectly situated for a plethora of activities and days out. Close by is historical Walsingham with its: religious shrines in honour of the Virgin Mary; the ruins of two medieval monastic houses; cafes and public houses; a steam railway to Wells next the Sea; and the wonderful Walsingham Farm Shop. Just a little further and you are at the coast in the lovely seaside town of Wells next the Sea. Wander along the coastal path or stop by the quayside for a fresh fish and chip supper whilst watching the fishing boats bob on the sea. In fact, this whole area is famous for its fabulous beaches, Nature Reserves, seal watching, as well as lovely eateries and shopping. You do not need to travel far to experience a truly wonderful Norfolk holiday.
