AWARDS:
In 2023, Tryst Cottage Ingleton was subject to a ROSE award by Visit England. The ROSE Awards recognise the accommodation providers across England who give visitors the best customer experience. The ROSE Award winners were nominated by VisitEngland’s quality scheme assessors and selected from assessor comments and online feedback from overseas and domestic visitors.
2024 Green Tourism Silver Award: A National accreditation and award in recognition of all of the measures we have taken to make Tryst Cottage Ingleton a Sustainable holiday cottage, and ensure your stay at the cottage protects the environment.
It is also no wonder that Tryst Cottage was the self catering cottage in Ingleton featured in the Yorkshire Post Travel Magazine!
Tryst Cottage affords the discerning guest the distinctive character and fascinating charm of a traditional stone cottage, furnished and equipped with your comfort as priority.
Throughout the year, the property is carefully inspected and undergoes a programme of maintenance and upgrade, so that you can enjoy the cottage at its best.
PERFECT LOCATION:
The cottage is set in the ideal location within the village to stroll to local bars, restaurants and shops, without crossing any main roads. It is a great base if you want to explore both the local area, and the wider Yorkshire Dales, access the Trough of Bowland, or even the Lake District!.
Whether you are looking for a romantic break, a family holiday, or simply getting away from it all, either exploring in your car, or an active holiday, Tryst Cottage is the perfect choice for your well earned holiday or short break.
Ingleton is a walkers delight, but also cycling and caving enthusiasts will find that there is so much for them to do.
Ingleton boasts the award winning Waterfall Walk, the White Scar Caves, and the Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Pennyghent and Whernside. The limestone formations in the Ingleton area are of historical and geological interest to all, including students.
There is an outdoor swimming pool / Lido, a children's play ground, and a BMX pump track all within the central village boundary.
The changing colours and light through the seasons in the Yorkshire Dales never cease to amaze.
The waterfall walk, Ingleborough, and Whernside are accessed on foot from the cottage. The White Scar Caves, and limestone walks are a loner walk, or, like Pennyghent, you may prefer to drive or take the bus a short way to get there.
The Settle to Carlisle Railway, Malham, Trough of Bowland, Dent, Hawes and wider Dales are easily accessible and the Lake District is only 30 minutes away.
WHY CHOOSE TRYST COTTAGE INGLETON? - INSIDE:
As owners who stay in our cottage, we provide for you all the comfort and items that we want when we are away from home, so that as soon as you arrive, you can switch off and relax. We try very hard to make sure that every detail has been thought of.
At the end of a tremendous day out in the vibrant Yorkshire air, imagine yourself relaxing on the comfortable leather sofa or armchair in front of the dancing (Defra approved) log burner whilst you reflect upon your day.
You will enjoy the perfect harmony between period features, such as the original beams, the hand carved four poster bed, the quirky Spice Cupboard (now a cool larder cupboard), together with the log burner (a full supply of logs is included in the price), central heating, Smart TVs, surround sound, NETFLIX, dishwasher and more.
The cottage is very well equipped (our guests say the kitchen is the best equipped that they have stayed in). Tryst Cottage was built in the early 1700's and still has original beams and an abundance of character, now together with the high end facilities needed to offer you the most comfortable stay.
With plenty of dishes and an array of different glasses in which to enjoy your favourite tipple, you wont need to wait for the dishwasher to run.
WHY CHOOSE TRYST COTTAGE INGLETON? - OUTSIDE:
Outside there are two seating areas. The raised mezzanine has views to the fells over Backgate, where you can sit on the teak garden furniture and dine alfresco or enjoy the shade of the sun brolly.
Downstairs, there is a barbecue area, rocking chairs, table and benches where you can sit and enjoying relaxing in a private area. Depending upon whether you want to enjoy brilliant sunshine, or a more sheltered area, you can choose your perfect spot!
In the summer months, and warmest evenings, when you are staying outside, an array of solar lights will provide gentle illumination whilst you lose the natural daylight. The movement sensor light will guide your way safely down the stairs from the mezzanine.
There is a secure stone shed on the mezzanine in which to store your bikes, climbing or caving equipment.
DOGS:
Your well behaved dog is welcome at no extra charge.
if you have more than two dogs, a small additional extra cleaning charge may be applied depending upon the size and breed.
We regret that owing to allergies and sensitivities, we are unable to accept cats or other pets at the cottage. We do not agree to dogs sleeping on beds provided for humans, for the same reason..
All of the pubs, and most of the teashops in and around Ingleton accept dogs, so you will all have a wonderful time.

Leave ReviewNicest place we have stayed
By Hazel on 21-Feb-2025Hi Jane, Hope all well. We had an absolutely lovely stay at the cottage, it was perfect for us. The bedding was one of the nicest of anywhere we have stayed! We would definitely book again; we love the area and this was the nicest place we have stayed. Thanks again, Hazel
Everything we needed
By Adelle on 21-Feb-2025There was everything we needed there and it was lovely to be able to walk straight from the cottage. We only used the car once and that was to go to the Ribblehead viaduct. It was more than warm enough and we didn't use the log burner much to our 9 yr olds disappointment. It was ideal for the kids and it was our 9 yr old who wrote his own write up in the visitors book. We used the walking info in the cottage, we visited Seasons bakery everyday, the pub a couple of times for a drink and got plenty of fresh air. We would come back if could do as still plenty to see in the area. Happy to leave a review somewhere if needed huge thanks to cleaner who came round Tuesday. She was lovely and clearly took pride in making sure she did a great job
Another Amazing Stay
By Sue, Graham, Matt and Jemma on 25-Oct-2024Another amazing stay at Tryst Cottage which is beautifully appointed, very comfy and the additional heating via the log burner makes for a very cosy evening by the fire. Excellent attention to detail, nothing was too. much trouble for Jane and Peter who have a beautiful cottage which we love to visit. Very lucky with the weather, lovely walks and views are fabulous driving through the villages. Local pubs are excellent, particularly enjoyed the Marton Arms which was well worth a visit. Thank you so much Jane and Peter x

Warm Cosy Cottage
By Chris, John and Stewart on 27-Dec-2024Warm, cosy cottage, Christmas decorations, chocolates and champagne were a thoughtful touch. We done some nice walks despite the very damp weather, but having the log burner to come back to was lovely.
