Description
1 Belltower is a well-appointed, comfortable home from home in a former church with a commanding position on the banks of the River Ness, on a quiet road close to all the city’s amenities. Quality restaurants and welcoming pubs are a few steps away and the centre of the city is just across the iconic pedestrian bridge right outside.The apartment has one bedroom with a king-size bed and a second with a double bed. There is an "Jack and Jill" bathroom with bath and separate shower ensuite to the king bedroom and also accessed from the hall, plus a second toilet upstairs.
The living room is upstairs, with quirky windows overlooking the river, church spires and cityscape. The open-plan kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave and all you need to cook for yourself with our fine local Highland produce.
In keeping with the historic nature of this listed building, the apartment is decorated with fascinating prints of old Inverness. There is wifi and a smart TV. Bedlinen and towels are provided, as are basic store-cupboard supplies. There are supermarkets conveniently close by.
The location is ideal for exploring the city. The Victorian market, castle, museum, art gallery, theatre, botanic gardens, canal locks, local nature reserve and shops are all just a short walk away along the riverside or across the footbridge. Dolphin-watching trips and the famous Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle are easily reached. Inverness has several golf courses and you can make day trips to the beach or to explore the rugged Highlands.
Extensive information on local attractions is provided, and you can find out more on-line. You need several days to make the most of all that Inverness and the wider area has to offer.
If you’re lucky you may find a free parking spot right outside the building. If not, we also provide a parking permit. The flat is a short walk from the bus and train stations.
We’ve been providing Highland hospitality to visitors for many years and take pride and pleasure in making your stay at 1 Belltower a most enjoyable experience. We regret it's not suitable for children or pets.

I can’t imagine a more perfect place

What’s more, is that the view from the front window is postcard perfect. The listing is spot on, the home is clean and Fiona is a responsive host with great recommendations. The most wonderful stay!
By Nicole on 17-Jul-2025This was the most wonderful stay! The location was fantastic with absolutely lovely views. It was walkable and centrally located but right outside of high traffic areas. The home was so comfy and cozy, had everything we needed, including small things here and there that someone traveling for 2 weeks might need. I appreciated Fiona’s proactive communication, and very clear instructions about everything. I loved this home and really appreciated this host.

Walking bridge is right across the street and gets you to pubs/restaurants and shopping downtown in minutes. This location is comfortable and very clean! Fiona was extremely responsive to any question we had. We had no issues with parking out front. Supermarket is right around the corner--literally a 5 minute walk-- so that you can purchase any groceries you''ll need. The kitchen also has everything you need. It was great to have he washing machine and drying rack. This place was also a perfect location to hop on the highway and go to the all of the places we wanted to visit (Dunrobin Castle, Glenmorangie Distillery, The Glenlivit Distillery, Macallan Distillery, Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Dores Inn, Bunchrew Inn for Afternoon Tea, etc. We were thrilled to stay here for 7 days and explore the area.
