Puddle Duck Cottage is beautifully presented, with a contemporary interior, a deceptively large, light cottage with high ceilings, yet keeping it's charm with a inglenook fireplace, and log burner for cosy nights in after a days exploring.
It has it’s own private drive with free parking and private secure garden, the rear garden has a lawn area and lovely large patio, with table and chairs by the BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining and directly accessed from the kitchen or lounge.
We provide guests with a truly home from home holiday experience, in a tranquil and peaceful location next to the River Severn at Jackfield. The cottage is located along the Wrekin Way footpath, providing our guests with direct access to traffic free scenic walks and cycle trails to enjoy during their stay.
The majority of our guests park their car up for the duration of their stay because everything is accessible on foot, meaning a truly relaxing break when you stay with us.
There’s a great choice of places for guests to enjoy a bite to eat and drink, whether that be fine dining at a local restaurant, coffee, and homemade cake at one of the cafés or the perfect pint with a pub lunch at the many local hostelries which are all only a short walk away. The Maws Craft Centre is only a 5-minute walk away where you will find a lovely collection of local artisans and home to the Tile Press Café, serving delicious breakfasts and lunches, guests of Puddle Duck Cottage receive a 10% discount on purchases.
Spa breaks are available - we recommend Love Pamper Company, they are a luxurious and truly indulgent beauty therapy service delivery 5* quality pop up spa parties in the comfort of your cottage. Ideal for a party of 6 friends as the beds can be set up as twins in all 3 bedrooms.
The picturesque centre of Ironbridge is just over a mile away with its lovely independent shops and is easily accessible on foot along the Severn Valley Way.
If you are celebrating a special occasion we are more than happy to help organise decorations, cakes and make dinner reservations for you, especially if it's a surprise for a love one.
Our central location in Shropshire makes us ideal for friends and family holidaying together, ABTA noted Shropshire in this year's must visit lists and was the only U.K destination. Sonia our host who lives next door was always on hand to help and answered my emails immediately. A lovely and memorable weekend with my dog and friends in fabulous surroundings.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean with everything you’d need for your stay, the super king sized beds were particularly comfortable! The garden is private and secure with space for Minnie our greyhound to potter around and there are plenty of walks from the doorstep and places to explore. We booked very last minute but Sonia was very helpful and replied to our enquiry quickly despite being away herself, our deposit was returned promptly by late afternoon of the day we left. The cottage has some lovely thoughtful finishing touches including a welcome hamper with some essentials (including chocolate cake and prosecco!) and is very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend Puddle Duck Cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing break in beautiful surroundings.
Hard to pick the best bit!

Love the fact we can park the car, unpack, and don’t need to drive again until it’s time to go home - although lots of places locally if you want to explore the area. Gorgeous, charming and immaculately clean cottage Exceptionally well equipped - couldn’t have thought of anything else we could need. Fab welcome pack (thanks Sonja for the chocolate cake and fizz Perfectly dog friendly - totally secure rear garden and a small paddock adjacent for off lead play Off road parking outside the front gate At least 4 four dog friendly pubs, serving food, within 15 / 20 minutes easy walk from the cottage. Centre of Ironbridge only 1.5 miles almost all traffic free Sonia, the owner, is great! There to welcome you and check you have everything you need. Really knowledgeable about the area and happy to help. Loads of info of the surrounding area in the cottage. And finally … Tom our Border Collie LOVES it - so there’s no better recommendation - he gives it at least 10 Border Collie stars.

The standard of cleanliness and maintenance is excellent.
By Joyce Wilson on 01-Aug-2025Another great weekend stay. Duckling Cottage has a welcoming feeling as soon as you walk through the door. The standard of cleanliness and maintenance is excellent. Everything that you need for your visit is to there for you to use. The gardens to the rear and side of the cottage are well maintained and great for your dogs. For any queries, Sonia is always available (in person or text). Damages deposit is returned promptly. Location - lots of walks to take in the history and countryside. Plenty of choice of bars, cafés and restaurants and dog friendly too. Sonia leaves lots of information about the local area for you to read through. We would definitely recommend a stay at one of the cottages. You don’t need a dog to stay at the cottages but they are ideal for visitors that like to bring their dog/s with them for a holiday. Thank you Sonia, Darren and Bertie
