Nestled in the heart of Fortuneswell, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our lovingly restored Victorian stone cottage offers a perfect blend of comfort, history, and adventure. Spanning three floors, the property boasts stunning loft views over the rooftops to the iconic Jurassic Coast and Lyme Bay, making it an idyllic retreat for couples, families, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.Inside the Cottage
● Ground Floor:
Enter into a welcoming hallway that leads to a cosy sitting room, complete with a Fire TV, board games, and puzzles – perfect for relaxing evenings. Adjacent, the dining room features an electric coal-effect fire and a well-stocked bookshelf with local brochures, connecting seamlessly to a fully equipped kitchen. Here, you'll find everything you need for home-cooked meals, including a gas oven, refrigerator, microwave, and more. A utility area with a washing machine, toilet, and washbasin completes the ground floor.
● First Floor:
Climb the original stairs to discover a spacious bathroom featuring a bath, rain shower
enclosure, and heated towel rail. The main bedroom boasts a king-size bed and partial sea views, while the second bedroom offers twin beds and practical storage.
● Second Floor:
The light-filled loft bedroom is a true highlight, with a double bed and far-reaching sea views that will take your breath away. This room also includes a TV with an Amazon Firestick for added comfort.
Outdoor Spaces
Enjoy the enclosed courtyard garden, equipped with seating for six, a cantilever parasol, and space to dry wetsuits, swimwear, or bikes. There’s even a lockable shed for secure bike storage, accessible via a back gate. At the front, a walled patio with a love seat provides a suntrap for morning coffee or evening relaxation.
The property features full central heating, hot water on demand, and Wi-Fi throughout. Please note that due to the age of the property, the stairs may not be suitable for young children or those with mobility issues.

We welcome up to two small/medium, well-behaved dogs for a fee of £25 per stay. Please let us know in advance if you’re bringing your dog. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, on the furniture, or to be left alone in the property. We kindly ask that any dog mess be cleared up. Dogs are welcome in the garden, but please ensure they are supervised. Guests are responsible for any damages caused by their pet. Thank you for your understanding.

By Maeva on 21-Jul-2025We had a beautiful stay at Joanne's place. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and peaceful. Big enough for the 6 of us. The beach is a few minutes away and the view from the upstairs window is breathtaking.
