Description

Dairy Barn is a luxury 5* Gold Award 3 bedroom barn conversion in an idyllic rural location on a working farm well known for its conservation, yet it is only a short drive away from the popular beaches of Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown and the many other attractions the Island has to offer. Dairy Barn offers exceptional comfort with three en-suite bedrooms, a large well equipped kitchen with Aga, separate dining room and spacious sunny lounge with wood-burner fire and SKY TV. It also has a private 2-acre woodland garden. The farm is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and offers some of the most magnificent landscapes in the South of England, surrounded by St Martin's Down, South Down and Wroxall Down. There are miles of footpaths and bridleways across the farm or within a few hundred yards to explore the local countryside on foot, by bike or on horseback. Minimum 3-night stay. CHILDREN OVER 12 and BABES IN ARMS ONLY as on working farm. UNFORTUNATELY NO PETS.

Outstanding holiday experience

By Alison C on 06-Jul-2021

Lovely cottage with plenty of room for the 6 of us. Sally is very friendly and helpful as Property Manager & Ross the Farm Manager was simply great at offering an insight into the workings of the farm. Greetings to Michael & family as owners of such a lovely property.

Home away from home

By Alan P on 24-Jul-2021

We had a fabulous break at the Dairy Barn. It suited us completely. We were three couples in our early sixties. The three double bedrooms all en-suite were ideal plus the downstairs cloakroom. Super king sized beds in two rooms and a king in the third again was perfect. Beds were comfortable and the bed linens all top quality- my duvet was 100% white duck down and couldn’t have been better. Pillows too in excellent condition. Mattresses and pillows were all spotless. The quality of the furniture, soft furnishings and appliances were all really high and in perfect order. This felt like my home and nothing like a holiday rental fitted out for profit. The kitchen was so well stocked and equipped. I anticipated that there would be the usual few bits of dishwasher supplies and perhaps salt and pepper but there were all the basic stock items and plenty of them. Tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, foil, cling film, all the rubbish sacks required and much else as well as a beautiful gift box with local wine, bread, cheese, butter, biscuits, jam etc. Sally, the manager, was delightful so helpful and informative and friendly but never intrusive although obviously willing to be contacted at any time. Ross, the farm manager, and Phoebe next door were equally good. Ross arranged an off road tour to see the downs and the land that was breathtaking. There was a lovely garden but also a comfy patio area just outside the kitchen door with tables and chairs and parasol. There was a barbecue available even supplied with charcoal. It is difficult to criticise anything but just so I can discourage some of you from booking this place solid so that I can get a chance to go again, I will nitpick two things. The lavatories in the en-suites are a little bit too close to the towel rails which could be more of an issue when they are on in cooler weather. Secondly there is only one pub/restaurant close enough for a stroll and it is mediocre at best. However there are other lovely places to eat not too far away. The Dairy Barn and all involved in its running thoroughly deserve the 5* rating. Excellent value for money.

A Perfect Ten! …………..

It pains me to say that: Dairy Barn and the location were ‘Perfect in every-way`. Please keep this to yourself.
