Due to demand we have opened our calendar for 2026! and offer a low deposit to secure your holiday.Walnut Tree Gîte is a charming stone 4 bedroomed cottage built in 1900 and refurbished in 2019 to provide a holiday home retaining the original charm and character yet providing the modern comforts expected, set in peaceful gardens with it's own heated swimming pool. Located in the peaceful village of Kersulan, the ideal location to sit back and relax.
Walnut Tree Gîte offers a separate kitchen and dining room and upon arrival we provide you with a Welcome Pack.
The kitchen has a focal point island for family and friends to gather around whilst preparing meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, and the essential dishwasher, attention to detail has been given to ensuring that the kitchen utensils are good quality and plentiful. Another feature of the kitchen is the lovely wood burner. In the kitchen you will also find tea, coffee, sugar, oils, spices, herbs, cleaning materials, tea towels, oven cloths.
The spacious dining room looks onto the front garden and down to the village, providing a beautiful setting to enjoy your meals, a large farm house table and chairs sits 6 comfortably.
The living room has a tranquil feel with windows and doors leading out to the front garden. It features a wood burner, three seater and two seater sofa's with two contrasting armchairs all located around the large coffee table in front of the wood burner.
There is UK satellite tv, French tv, dvd player, wireless speakers, books and films.
Stairs from the living room lead to the mezzanine bedroom with feature king size iron bed.
The main stairs lead from the kitchen to the spacious main bedroom with en-suite, there are a further two single bedrooms and a family bathroom.
In the main bedroom you will find a comfortable king size bed, with an en-suite which comprises of a bath with over head shower, vanity unit and wc.
All the bed linen and towels are luxury hotel quality giving you that relaxing nights sleep. We also include pool towels.
The corridor from the kitchen leads to a separate downstairs wc and a laundry room, the corridor also gives access to the back garden and heated swimming pool.
Outside you will find the private garden with heated swimming pool, which is yours, and yours alone! The swimming pool was totally renovated in 2021 (3.5m x 6m and is 1.5m deep) , you will find the crystal waters to be a glorious 26 degrees, and for those families with children, the peace of mind that the pool is fully enclosed. The peaceful landscaped garden has many area to sit and relax either in the shade or full sun, you will find a delightful al fresco dining area with gas bbq which overlooks the pool or you can sit and read a book in the landscaped garden ruins. The garden really does offer the perfect surroundings to just sit back, relax and enjoy life. New for 2024 we have a games hangar with outdoor games for all the family to enjoy.
There is room for two cars at the front of the property. Electric charging station is available for guests, contact us direct for terms.
We are pet friendly, and welcome dogs at a charge of 40€ per week on request.
On departure guests are requested to leave the Gîte clean and tidy, or you can take up our Pack and Go facility for 50€.
A security/breakage deposit of 500€/£ is required for the duration of the stay.
The Morbihan region is a very varied department of France, offering prehistoric monuments, historical towns, beautiful estuaries and the River Blavet. It boasts beautiful sandy beaches and islands along the coast and around the Gulf of Morbihan, and as Brittany's most southern department offers the best summer holiday weather and sea temperatures.
Walnut Tree Gîte is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Brittany and Morbihan has to offer the nearest large town is historical Pontivy just 10 minutes away, the River Blavet just 5 minutes, and the nearest beaches are 40 minutes drive away. Nearby activities include kayak/canoes, river boat trips, golf (4km), horse riding (1km), fishing, and surrounded by many woodland walks.
There are so many beautiful villages and towns nearby to see, that we have provided an information pack with recommendations including markets, restaurants and places of interest to visit.

By Steven Duly on 24-May-2025We were looking forward to our stay at Walnut Tree Gite based on the website pictures and the correspondence we'd had with the owners, Tina and Graeme. When we arrived everything surpassed our expectations. We were met by Tina and Graeme after a long drive down to them and it felt like we were being welcomed by family friends, they helped with our bags, were really welcoming and friendly - it was really nice and a great start to our time there. They really couldn't have done any more for us, Tina had made us a delicious quiche to save us the hassle of making dinner because we were arriving late. There were cold beers and wine in the fridge, tasty homemade cake and chutneys - it was amazing! You would be hard pushed to find something they hadn't thought of. The gite was so well equipped with everything you might need. We've never been to a place that really had thought of everything to that extent. When we stay there again we can pack half as much as we did this time, as they've got it covered. There's more kitchen equipment than I think we have at our house, there are indoor games, outdoor games, table tennis, darts, baby highchair, baby plate, bowl etc. It really does make it a much more convenient and enjoyable experience. The gite itself is just as gorgeous if not more so than the pictures show. Every time we would go through the front door we were met with the smell of the roses, then you look out and take in the peace and tranquillity. The gardens, front and back, are so well maintained and inviting that you could honestly sit in any one of the many seated areas for hours (if you don't have children that is!). Although it wasn't the hottest and sunniest time of year when we visited we still managed to get plenty of use out of the pool and even gave the barbecue a whirl. The pool is immaculate and looks brand new. We have two young children (4 and 1) and it was a good size for all of us to splash around and have fun. Our kids loved it, lots of little nooks to explore in the garden, the chickens in Tina and Graeme's garden behind, all the games, it was perfect for us. I have to mention the bedrooms...I'm not sure we have ever slept so well. The black out blinds are fantastic. We all slept longer than usual thanks to the blinds and the beds...so comfortable! The property is amazing, and for anyone looking for a peaceful easy break away, this is ideal. When you add Tina and Graeme to the mix I think you're guaranteed to have a fantastic holiday. As I said before, nothing seems too much trouble for them. They even helped us plan our journey back, with suggestions on half-way point stopovers. We were already planning our next stay there before we had even left!

Another 10/10 stay At This Outstanding Gite
By Alison & Nick on 29-Jun-2024We have just returned from another fabulous stay at Walnut Tree Gite, the first being two years ago. It was every bit as good as our previous stay, and so enjoyable to be back in the peaceful, secluded and stunning garden. The private heated pool is such a bonus, and lovely to spend the day around. The gite is so welcoming - it is full of character, and stylishly furnished. It is very well equipped with quality kitchen utensils and beautiful bed linen. Tina and Graeme have thought of everything - the provide a sumptuous welcome back of bottles of wine, homemade cake, chutney, preserves, freshly laid eggs from their chickens, plus all the other essentials. It is super dog friendly, with a safe and secluded garden - our dog loves being there as much as we do, and was so happy to be back and see Tina & Graeme again! Dogs get their own welcome back too. Tina & Graeme are the best of hosts, they will leave you to be, or are more than happy to have a chat and help with anything. We can't think of anything else that would have improved our stay - it is just perfect!

In Our Opinion, Highly Recommended
By Nico & Janneke Zoeteman on 26-Jun-2024We were guests at The Walnut Tree from 1 to 15 June. This house feels like coming home. And that is because of the incredible hospitality of Tina and Graeme. A lovely welcome package will be ready upon arrival. There was even a package ready for our dog Saar! The house has been furnished with a lot of love and care. Beautiful and good furniture, the same applies to crockery, cutlery, pans, bed linen, towels and beach towels. Everything has been thought of. Around the house there is a beautifully quiet garden with many flower borders. A feast for birds, insects and the guests. And in the garden there is a nice, warm swimming pool. The Morbihan is a beautiful region to explore. In the Walnut Tree you will find plenty of information for trips nearby and further afield. In our opinion, highly recommended.
