Peter, August 2022
By Peter on 20-Aug-2022Lighthouse Chalet is wonderful. The setting is peaceful and green, just a few minutes' walk from the water's edge, and the hosts friendly and helpful: they even welcomed us with fresh scones and cream! We found everything we needed in the chalet, and it's clear that Raymond and Jenny have put a lot of thought into decorating and equipping it. For example, even though the sea is so close, you'll appreciate the special "tide clock" so you can time your walks perfectly, while the USB chargers saved our bacon as our French plugs didn't fit UK sockets and we had forgotten to bring an adapter (oops). The kitchen is well equiped, the sofas are comfy, the bedcovers clean and cosy, and there was a surprising amount of storage space. We brought our bicycles with us, and only took the car out once all week, for a trip to Norwich: Everywhere else, we went on foot or on two wheels. There are plenty of places to eat or to shop for essentials in Kessingland and nearby Pakefield, and if you're a fan of maize mazes, there are a couple within cycling distance (although some may find Southwold a bit of a stretch).

By Ian on 12-Aug-2019Peace perfect peace! Great chalet, well situated, welcoming, spotlessly clean, uber-well equipped, comfortable ... a real home from home. Lovely thoughtful touches. Loved bracing walks on the windswept beach. Explored the area as far as Norwich. Nowhere too far away. A very relaxing stay. Thanks Ray ... Superhost First Class

Ann, July 2021
By Ann on 19-Jul-2021Review We've just had a lovely, comfortable and peaceful stay in Lighthouse Chalet. The chalet is light and airy, laid out in a good practical way, but at the same time has a homely feel to it. We had good weather, but even if not, the two sofas are very comfortable, plenty of good lighting to read by. Everything works well - TV, cooker etc. Good uncomplicated (thank goodness!) shower. The milk, including soya, teabags etc were welcome and there were thoughtful practical things which Raymond had left eg, umbrella, torches, large post-it notes. The site is very peaceful with lots of grassy areas and chalets well spaced. We would recommend just relaxing on the beach late afternoon, or even having a paddle, as it's not all shingle. A lovely interesting village too and excellent fish & chip shop. We also used the regular bus service to Southwold. We're looking forward to another stay at the chalet. We intend to revisit as soon as

By Lorraine on 26-Jul-2020Get set for a sparkling clean comfortable little chalet right on the coast. There’s endless coffee, tea and treats and even nibbles for your doggie. The host has thought of everything, there’s even a local map to help you appreciate this beautiful part of the country.
