Leave ReviewGreat base for a winter break
By Helen and Mark on 17-Jan-2026We stayed in the byre with Molly the JRT and found it the perfect base for a week in the Lakes. The accommodation is comfortable and cosy with none of the usual irritants of holiday cottages. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bed comfortable, and there's a plentiful supply of logs for the stove. It's in a superb location for low and high level walks from the door. We'll be back!
Townhead
By Grahame Fry on 16-Aug-2025Excellent quality accommodation. Very well situated in Threlkeld. Simple booking process. Hope to return.
Great location
By Thomas Hardy party on 09-Aug-2025Comfortable, immaculately clean accommodation in Barn and Byre. Lots of room for our 3 generation party. Lovely walks, great pub in village and close to Keswick. I highly recommend a production at the Theatre by the Lake..excellent. The only drawback for my Arthritic knee was the abundance of steps..but I coped and enjoyed the stay.
Amazing stay in Threlkeld
By Clara Zwarts on 07-Jun-2025We stayed here voor two weeks with my parents. What an amazing time we had. Threlkeld is a great location to explore the lakes. Beautiful view from the garden. The house is well equipped and comfortable. On rainy days there is a cosy log burner and the house is nice and warm. Really couldn't fault it. The only minor thing is that if there are people staying next door it can get a bit uncomfortable to sit outside as the fence is very low and you are basically sitting right next to each other.
Great accommodation
By Suzanne on 15-May-2025We have stayed twice before with a big group in The Barn & Byre combined but this was our first trip as a couple staying in The Byre alone and it was just as good! Perfect location, nice comfy accommodation which was immaculately presented, well equipped kitchen and a good deep bath with powerful shower. Everything you need for a great holiday!
