It is spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated every little detail to make for a perfect stay has been thought of. Stephen and Di are always very helpful and their welcoming touches really make guests feel at home. We are lucky enough to be spending our second Christmas at River Cottage this year and I am sure we will be back again in 2026.

Lovely terrace to sit out on, large living room and kitchen. 2 good size bedrooms with shower room/ toilet downstairs and large bathroom upstairs. Host Stephen was very helpful and kindly left a birthday gift for me. Property was big enough for us to have a family get together and flowed well. Would not hesitate to return.
Another wonderful stay at River Cottage

A lovely property in a wonderful location, a short 5 minute walk into the centre of Keswick and a great base for exploring the nearby fells. Cottage has everything you need including off road parking. We’ll be back again soon I’m sure.
Absolutely stunning

It’s been very thoughtfully equipped and decorated to an extremely high standard and we felt instantly “at home”. Combine this with an easy walk into Keswick centre for shops, pubs, cafes and local walks plus the added bonus of a 5 minute walk the other way to The Pheasant for supper (highly recommend but book in advance it’s very busy) makes this a perfect cottage. The garden is welcoming and I enjoyed my morning coffee from the seating area watching the river and taking in the fantastic views. We even looked at booking to return for the same week in 2026 but sadly it’s already booked up! Stephen and Di were quickly helpful with any questions so we would like to thank them for such a great stay. ️
A lovely cottage in an ideal location

A superb location with views of the Fells from every window, the River Greta running just behind the cottage and an easy stroll into Keswick town centre. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lovely furnishings, bedding and towels and a very well equipped kitchen. A lovely welcome pack awaited us. Booking direct with Stephen and Di was very straightforward and they kindly messaged us to ask if we had everything we needed. Keswick is a beautiful town with an abundance of places to eat and with the snow topped hills looked absolutely stunning. We shall return!
Fantastic Cottage
By Paul Colman on 28-Aug-2024We had a great week in Keswick based at the beautiful, spacious and comfortable River Cottage. It’s well equipped, clean and in great condition. There’s plenty of room everywhere for 4 to spread out or stay together. The large garden backs onto the river so is private and sunny (if it ever comes out!). The location is great – quiet with a driveway but only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. The owners are lovely too and swapped the feather bedding for us.
