There are plenty of bars and cafes to sit outside and a good selection of restaurants all within walking distance of the farmhouse.
ST EMILION
The historic wine capital of St Emilion is definitely worth a visit with its medieval catacombs and underground church. There are plenty of restaurants to eat in, gift shops to browse around and not forgetting plenty of vineyards

A fabulous break away

By Becci Blood on 26-Jul-2025

This villa is in a fantastic setting perfect for a holiday with friends. Edgar and Sheenagh were great hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. The pool was really big and perfect for us and the location was brilliant. Having the use of the bikes was really great too as we could all explore the area and we really felt like locals. We became very attached to Smoky the goat and ‘Tucky’ the chicken. Thanks for a really great holiday!

A fantastic place for a relaxing French holiday

By Mark Shipway on 12-Jul-2025

We had a fantastic weeks holiday. The location is quiet, surrounded by farmland and trees which are full of wildlife. The large house is comfortable, clean and very spacious. Our three boys had a bedroom each while Janine and myself had the ground floor bedroom that opens on to the garden. The garden is massive with trees, shrubs and flowers. Look out for the sneaky escaping chicken called 'Chicken'. If you ever find out how 'Chicken' escapes, then tell Edgar, he'd love to know. The best part of the garden is the pool and pool house. We spent most of our days in and around the pool or playing table tennis and we spent every evening in the pool house, listening to music and relaxing. The pool is a great size and cleaned every morning. There are bicycles available so we had a couple of cycling outings along the Garonne Canal, it's an easy cycle ride, ideal for any level. The rides were a highlight of the holiday, it's very scenic and there are bars and cafes along the way. La Reole is a short drive or 20 minutes walk away. The town is very historic and has great restaurants, bars and boulangeries where you can soak up French life. We loved the place and location. Sheenagh and Edgar didn't interfere with our holiday but when we needed them, they were very helpful, a quick good morning and chat followed by "Right get on with it then" set the day off to a good start. This is a place where you can melt into France and relax. There are many places within a short distance to discover, as the famous Henry Cole says "You never know what you're gunna find".

A 10 day summer family break

Amazing villa and pool. Sheenagh and Edgar so helpful and friendly would highly recommend. Pool is exceptional and nice stroll into town nearby. Bikes were available for all if us and a real bonus.

Peace and Tranquility

By Eleri Hughes on 27-Jul-2024

What a wonderful house this was to stay in, superbly equipped. It had everything you needed all set within lovely grounds, surrounded by fields. This is definitely somewhere you can unwind and while away the hours by the pool. The pool area is stunning and has to be one of the cleanest pools we've ever had in our 20+ years of coming to France. It is cleaned every morning by the owners. There is a great beach style shack by the pool with a fridge and table football along with sun loungers and shade. There is a lovely patio with a BBQ and we loved feeding the chickens and goat who are housed in their pen at the end of the grounds, any left overs . Sheenah and Edgar, who live next door, were perfect hosts, extremely welcoming and very discreet, but there for anything, should you need them.

Relaxing peaceful location

By Rachael Evans on 07-Jul-2024

Visited Sheenagh and Vincent in July and had a wonderful time. The house and gardens are as described,if not better! The house has everything you need. The gardens are week kept and a great size for a family to run around in. The pool and pool area is private and relaxing, although pretty cold even for mid-July as not heated. The house is about a 20 minute easy walk along quiet county roads into La Réole or you can borrow bikes from Sheenagh which was much appreciated. Overall a lovely quiet property, pool and gardens with plenty of space and lots to do in the area

Owner response on 26-Aug-2024

Thank you for your review we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Due to abnormally cool weather this July the pool water temperature was a little cooler than usual as August arrived and temperatures were back to normal, the pool offered a lovely refreshing oasis for our guests to cool off in!

A fantastic place to stay!

By Julie on 06-Aug-2022

My family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farmhouse, with its beautiful grounds and large safe pool. The grandchildren spent long hot days playing in the pool. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We can’t wait for a return stay.
