By Carol on 27-Sep-2025Had a great time revisiting old haunts from when we lived in the Charente Maritime several years ago. The gite is very comfortable and well situated for visiting Ile de Re, Fouras, Venise Verte (Coulon),Saintes, Cognac, La Rochelle. Plenty to see and do. Thanks Hazel Charles & Carol Maryport, Cumbria

Lovely relaxing fortnight.
By Rachel Cocoran on 16-Aug-2025We've had a Lovely relaxing fortnight. We've enjoyed exploring this part of France. A visit to the Aquarium in La Rochelle was very enjoyable. We had no problen parking at hes Salines. We went to various beaches:-La Chatelaillon-Plage. Fouras - Plage Sud had a sea water swimming pool which was ideal when the tide was out La Grande Plage, Ile d'Oléron had great waves, different locations had life guards. A trip to Les Arènes de Saintes was informative. The ticket enabled us to visit 3 other museums in Saintes. The château de la Roche Courbon was pretty. The English tour of the castle only occurs on a Thursday at 12 o'clock. We had a couple of delicious plat du jour at Le P'tit Caprice. Definitely reserve a table. We enjoyed an afternoon at Coulon and a boat ride and of course we enjoyed the wine, cheese and patisseries. Rachel, Phil, Lucy and Joe.
Excellent property and friendly help
By Tom Hainsworth on 05-Aug-2025We stayed here for 9 nights and couldn't be more happy with our stay. Hazel was friendly and really helpful with recommending some great places to visit. We even had fresh peaches from the tree in her garden delivered to us! The house was very clean and suited our needs greatly. It had everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend staying here.
Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Relaxing Holiday
By Diana Bijl on 01-Jun-2025Hazel is a warm and thoughtful hostess. Hazel is an artist and has a beautiful studio. It's worth asking Hazel for a tour of her studio. Hazel The house is spacious, everything you need is there. The fully enclosed private garden is pleasant, there is plenty of garden furniture available to relax in the garden. The only downside is that the house is located on a quiet country road, but the local residents drive fast.
