Description
A charming traditional Landes style chalet with 3 large bedrooms, sleeping up to 7 guests. The is a swimming pool to the rear, with sun deck, a fully enclosed garden suitable for pets and secure off road parking for several vehicles. Ideally located just a short walk from the beach and vibrant town centre, with a host of shops, restaurants and bars.Lacanau Ocean is a lively coastal resort 40Km west of Bordeaux and is popular with surfers and water sports enthusiasts, lovers of cycling, the forests and nature. There are dozens of surf schools where you can hire surfing equipment and join surfing classes. The beach is of fine golden sand and stretches for miles in both directions, with several safe areas with lifeguards. Lacanau Ocean hosts a round of the international surfing championship during August and the town is simply buzzing with beach sports, live music and entertainment. There is a long promenade along the seafront ideal for taking an evening stroll and enjoying the spectacular sunset, or a drink at one of the numerous beach bars. Just behind the promenade there is an entertainments zone which has live music and street performers throughout the summer. You will find a wide choice of restaurants, takeaway food outlets, bars and shops around the town centre and there are 2 main supermarkets, a Carrefour Contact and Super U Express, plus many artisan food retailers and boulangeries. There is also a large street market on Wednesdays where you can find lovely local produce on sale. Lacanau Ocean is surrounded by miles of pine forest with well maintained cycle routes throughout and not far away is the huge fresh water Lacanau lake, ideal for young children. There are many places to hire bikes either just for the day or for the duration of your stay.
Our house is located approximately 500m back from the seafront and start of the town centre, so once there you can leave your car on the drive and walk or cycle everywhere. Accommodating up to 7 guests the house has 3 good sized bedrooms, a family bath/shower room, separate toilet, lounge diner, kitchen and utility room.
Bedroom 1 to the front has a double bed, built in wardrobe, chest of draws and bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 2 has two single beds, which can be moved together to make a king size double, built in double wardrobe and shelves, bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 3 to the rear has 3 single beds, built in wardrobes and shelves and bedside cabinets.
Family bathroom with a full size bath tub and powerful shower over, a hand basin and bidet. There is a large storage cabinet with space for personal items and also contains a digital safe. There is a separate toilet room.
The lounge/dining room is to the front of the house and has a dining table and chairs for 8. The lounge sitting area is arranged around the the open fireplace and media centre with satellite TV, Firestick, DVD and Zeppelin sound bar with IPod connection. The Lounge opens on to the shaded front terrace and provides an ideal place to relax out of the sun.
The well equipped kitchen is to the rear of the property and has a gas cooker and hob, plus a second electric rotisserie oven and grill, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, fridge and all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans you will need. Off the kitchen is a utility room with large fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, another storage cabinet with microwave oven, lots of glass ware, children's crockery and other essential household appliances.
Opening from the kitchen to the rear of the house is a level decked outside dining area with gazebo and stone BBQ, with steps leading up to the 8m x 4m swimming pool terrace and sun deck with sun loungers and parasol. The garden and pool terrace are surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, so there is ample shade if required. There is secure parking for one car on the gated drive and free on road parking to the front of the property.
Broadband internet is provided free of charge via a 5G mobile hub which deliver speeds of up to 100mbs.
We welcome guests with well behaved pets on the understanding that responsibility will be taken by the guest to clear up afterwards.
Our property is available to rent by the week only, with change over day on Saturday, due to the need to pre-book cleaning contractors. Bed linen and bathroom towels are also provided, included in the price.
Prices are quoted in Euros and are inclusive of end of stay cleaning. Payment by credit card possible.

The fantastic swimming pool was a hit, and the children had a blast with the table tennis. Just a short stroll away is Lacanau Ocean, bustling with delightful shops, patisseries, and restaurants. We absolutely loved exploring the vibrant weekly market. This place is truly a gem! Fantastic communication with the owners throughout the whole process.
France atlantic shore at its best - very nice house at a great location

The villa is fantastic, set in a quiet location near the forest but also within walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and beach. There was plenty of space for us, lovely to arrive to clean, made up bedrooms. The pool area is bigger than it looks in the pictures, super clean and the garden was perfect for our dog with shaded areas when it was too hot for her (and her own little padddling pool!) There is literally everything you could possibly need in the villa, from loo rolls to oyster forks! And the large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine all made staying with family so much easier. The area of Lacanau ocean is beautiful, the local people are super friendly, the food (which is a big part of our holidays!) was excellent every where we tried, the beaches are gorgeous with big Atlantic waves ideal for surfing! We usually don’t go to the same place twice but this place is special and worth the drive down from Calais (if we didn’t have a dog we would have flown to Bordeaux) we will be back and we will be booking this lovely villa!
Perfect family house!
By Oosterom on 20-Jul-2024We really enjoyed our stay in this house. It is spacious, has all the things you need for a comfortabel stay from toiletpaper to salt in the kitchen. You only need to bring your personalia stuff and clothing. Everything is there. Nice, big fridge, outside bbq.. The swimmingpool was excellent. As was the location. Only 10min walk to beach and restaurant area. Lacanau is very cosy. The only things that needs some attention is the woorden deck around the lounge area near the swimmingpool. Some of the deck planks are not properly screwed anymore. So one of us got injured on the foot. The drain in the kitchen should be unclogged for better waterflow. But this could not bother us since the rest wasso good. When in the future our boys still want to come with us on holiday, we might return since we had a great stay!

La mer et le centre-ville sont a 10min a pied, ce qui permet de se passer intégralement de la voiture pendant une semaine. Emplacement optimal
By Verified traveller on 04-Sep-2022Une maison assez grande pour accueillir au moins 2 familles, un emplacement optimal pour profiter d’agréables vacances et au calme (même avec le centre de vacances en face de la maison). Très bien équipée, il ne manque aucun matériels et ustensiles dont nous pouvons avoir besoin, avec aussi quelques jeux gonflables pour la piscine. Certes, la maison est ancienne et pour ceux qui aiment le moderne, et bien pas de chichi dans celle-ci. La piscine est grande, le jardin très sympa. Située idéalement pour profiter de Lacanau centre (10 mn à pied, 3 mns en vélo) et des plages Sud (moins de 5 mns en vélo). Il faudra peut-être songer à penser changer la table de ping-pong……. mais très appréciable de l’avoir pour jouer. Contact très bon avec les propriétaires. Accueil très sympathique de Mr. Millet qui remet les clefs. Bref, nous pensons revenir.
