Description
Our house is set in an old olive grove on a terrace overlooking the medieval village of Lagrasse which is ranked as one of the most beautiful in France. The countryside is hilly, with vineyards in the valleys. Sitting on the front terrace, shaded by olive and cypress trees, there are lovely views of the village, abbey and vineyards and down the valley of the river Orbieu to the hills beyond.It is only 5 minutes walk into Lagrasse, yet the house is surrounded by woods with only one neighbouring home.
Lagrasse has 4 cafes and 9 restaurants and the village hosts a local market on Saturday morning, a boulangerie, tabac, pharmacy and a small alimentation as well as a number of arts and crafts boutiques.
There is a doctor in the village and a dentist in Fabrezan (10 mins away).
A public tennis court is available for hire in the village and there are rackets in our house.
In the summer months the river is dammed above the village for swimming.
The local market town of Lezignan -Corbieres is 15 mins away with many facilities including three supermarkets.
There are excursions to be had to stunning Cathar castles, the roman town of Narbonne with its beautiful Art Deco covered market, cathedral and gallery and the famous medieval city of Carcassonne.
The coast is full of dandy beaches less than one hour away.

By Nicky on 31-May-2025We have just had a 2 week holiday here. The house is very well fitted out with everything you might need in the kitchen. Comfy bed and great shower! The pool is lovely and we made good use of it. The location is ideal for exploring the area. Angele was easy to get hold of when needed and was very helpful.

By not available on 29-Jul-2023Lagrasse is a very beautiful village from where one can radiate to visit the surroundings. The house is nice and there is everything you could need. April 2023 We had two amazing weeks in Lagrasse and I can highly recommend this property. Roger and Angele went out of their way to make sure we were happy and had all we needed. The property is just on the edge of the village with a pleasant short walk to the main street with all the bars and restaurants. It is well supplied with great facilities. Everyone loved the pool. One of the best places we ever stayed. Will be back! June 2023 Hello! We are just leaving now, thank you for a fabulous holiday! I have left the keys with the cleaner as she said she would need them. We had a great time and hope to be back next year! July 2023
