The local area provides leisurely walks along the stunning coastal footpaths which are right on your doorstep, to fun on the beach and in the nightspots of Blackpool, meals and drinks in the cool independent bars and restaurants of Poulton-le-Fylde, and activities such as birdwatching, pony trekking, archery, kayaking and water sports, petting zoo and clay pigeon shooting. An ideal holiday destination for walking or cycling, a luxury break and romantic escape for two, a fun-filled family holiday, short breaks and for group bookings.
Our holiday cottage is a fully self-contained and private annexed cottage that is spacious both inside and out, providing three bedrooms (sleeping six people), comfortable, cool and quirky designed interiors, and a private garden area. There is an abundance of flora, fauna and wildlife in the surrounding area, and the cottage was named for our local neighbourhood pheasant, Phreddy, who you can see mornings and evenings patrolling the property boundary. Pheasant Cottage is dog friendly - we don't specify the number of dogs you can bring, it really depends on their size, so please let us know the number of dogs and breeds to confirm they can be accommodated in the cottage
The secluded garden room and sun terrace offer spectacular waterside views of the estuary and have plenty of seating and tasteful festoon lighting to provide the perfect relaxation zone, come rain or shine; perfect for watching the spectacular sunsets. The sun terrace has a selection of large and small bean bags for sunnier days and the covered garden room has a large gas BBQ and plenty of comfy rattan style seating and a luxury six person hot tub with hydrotherapy jets. Large, cosy Egyptian cotton bathrobes and comfy towelling spa slippers are provided for you to cosy into. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage but you are welcome to smoke in the garden room and sun terrace areas,
There is ample parking space and room for a motorhome, campervan or caravan at an extra charge for guests exceeding six – please ask for details prior to booking.
Take in the sunset views at mealtimes in the kitchen/diner. With seating for up to six, this room is stocked with store cupboard staples and a welcome pack that includes nibbles and a bottle of prosecco. There is a Tassimo coffee machine with caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee pods, as well as Twinings teabags and brown and white sugar; there are expresso cups and large mugs for whatever sized drink you like to start your day or end your night with. A selection of glasses including those made from acrylic are provided so whether you are relaxing in the garden or soaking up the sun in the hot tub you can have a drink to hand. Products that cater to dietary requirements such as gluten free and vegan can be substituted for some of the above, please request when booking.
The living room is inspired by the colours and nature of the estuary, the history of the area’s sea-faring past and the traditions of the British seaside town. It has ample seating with large, comfy sofas and an easy chair and foot stool, making it ideal for cosying by the log burner and socialising or settling down with one of the books from the bookcase. There is also a HD television with full Sky package if it is some evening entertainment you want. Some kindling and logs are provided for when you arrive so you can enjoy settling in from your first night. The cottage is centrally heated throughout.
Each of our three bedrooms at Pheasant Cottage are tastefully decorated to promote comfort and serenity and are themed to evoke the beauty of the surrounding area. The ‘ocean room’ is calming and tranquil, designed with hues of blue, and as the largest of the bedrooms it includes a super king-size bed, ample wardrobe and drawer storage and a full length mirror. The ‘sand room’ is inspired by the reviving colours and ambience of the beach, designed in blue, green and natural tones. It has a double bed along with storage in the wardrobe and bedside tables. And the ‘sun room’ is warm and fun and brings to mind a summer’s day at the seaside. It has two single beds and storage in the wardrobe and bedside table. Premium mattresses and Dunlopillo pillows are provided for comfort and support.
The bathroom offers the luxury of a stand-alone roll top bath with a shower, and complimentary Faith in Nature organic, vegan, 100% natural and cruelty-free shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Large Egyptian cotton bath towels are provided.
Baby/infant safety - fire guard and plug socket protectors provided; Babylo Liteway Lightweight Travel Cot (please bring own bedding for health and safety) and Graco Snack N’ Stow Compact Highchair provided; baby/infant dining set provided; 2 bedrooms and the living room have unsecured roller blind chains; kitchen cupboards do not have child cupboard locks.
Our local butchers, the Hindquarter at Knott End-on-Sea, provide quality produce from local farms and can prepare breakfast and barbeque packs for collection or delivery. Or for something extra special, Booths premium food and drink retailer at Poulton-le-Fylde offer an online click and collect service, and the fabulous Lathams of Broughton prepare delicious afternoon teas and other delights that can be delivered straight to your door. Stalmine is a 30 minute walk/6 minute drive where you can find the Seven Stars pub, a friendly and cosy pub serving lunch and evening meals and has a large beer garden at the rear and dogs are also welcome, and the local shop and newsagent selling store cupboard staples.
