Description
Owned by Matt Arnold (of Four in a Bed and GMTV fame!) you'll be staying in a modern single story rural villa with an 11m pool set in secluded private gardens where you are not overlooked as you enjoy the sunshine which in June, July, August is HOT HOT HOT!Inside you'll find stylish fixtures and fitting include 65" TV and delicious airconditioning. All the beds are the same as the ones used in Matt's hotel in the UK (Bridge Hotel Brandon if you fancy a stay!) Mattison Monarch 1400's. The exact same beds you find in Gleneagles Hotel and they are soooo comfy
Matt was on GMTV and It's where he's holidayed since buying it off plan in 2002 and he and his family have enjoyed it for two decades now as well as the other families who get to stay as well!
It suits all ages with its unique location which allows you to walk, run, cycle, in beautiful surroundings, as well as the opportunity to enjoy a range of water activities on your doorstep with the beach and the Black Mountains just a short drive away
You can dine out every night for a fortnight and not revisit the same place twice
Agel has a local tennis court in the shade of the Mairie which I have arranged free use of for my guests. The key is in the villa and please look after this privilege!
Two km is the short drive to the local supermarket and boulangerie and they really do have all you could ever need, although the larger supermarkets are also within a 15 minute drive
It's not touristy it's very authentic and one final thing!
You only have to nip through the hedge to the local cave to enjoy their range of delicious wine with a 10% discount especially arranged for my guests!

We've done a road trip via Jersey and St Malo and La Rochelle but our girls are flying back from nearby Carcassonne airport with Ryanair for only £44 each! We've just done the vineyard wine tasting next door and got the discount agreed so bought plenty to take home Lovely evening sunsets in the tranquil countryside but only 45 mins from the beach and plenty of local restaurants like Bistro de Las Placette (English owner) Sunday we are off to Beziers. Highly recommend this place, the pool is fabulous and parking right outside We are on our way now, all locked up and tidy. We loved it, last night we ate at the restaurant in Aigne which was superb and we loved walking round the medieval circular village. Best wishes and thanks again Robin Sue and the girls
A home away from home
By Emma C on 18-Apr-2025We stayed for a week in Matt's villa and I'ver returned feeling refreshed and relaxed The villa is perfect for groups of four and the amenities make it an oasis. We spent evenings by the bbq enjoying the sunset over the vineyards and spent the days lounging by the pool and playing tennis in the tranquil court up the road Can't recommend Maison Minervoise enough!

We all loved the local tennis court and the boulangerie just up the road The kids loved playing in the pool I would highly recommend your place to everyone
Beautiful setting and so peaceful
By Elizabeth Coleman on 14-Jul-2024I had such a wonderful time at Matt’s villa in Agel. Such a beautiful setting and so peaceful. Wonderful choice of restaurants as well as bbq facilities to stay home and enjoy the sunset. Private pool, rowing machine, mountains to walk in, tennis to play for free in the village, beaches and wonderful towns within 40 minute drives and lots of water sports to partake in. I need to go again as there is so much to do. However it is the beautiful peace at this private villa which provides a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of my busy life in the UK! Oh and I forgot to say, you can drive to Spain for Tapas in just over 1 hour!!
