Leave ReviewA relaxing week
By Guest from Lancaster on 09-Aug-2017We had a relaxing week at your lovely villa. Paul was very helpful recommending restaurants and beaches. We loved the village of Laroque, it was so very French. Walking to the village in the evening sun through all the allotments is a fond memory. The villa was lovely, we enjoyed cooking meals on the barbecue and appreciated the air conditioning on a couple of particularly hot days. It was in such a quiet location, we felt fully rested by the end of our week. We fully endorse Paul's recommendation to eat at Cote Saisons for our wedding anniversary, but book as soon as you arrive. We were lucky, we got a cancellation about two hours beforehand. The art museum at Ceret is worth a visit and we had an enjoyable afternoon picnicking by the river there. We did go on Le Petit Train Jaune but don't be fooled into thinking you have a reservation if you book online. All that guarantees is a place for that day. We were unable to travel in the morning as a result. But it is definitely worth doing - just arrive well before 9 a.m. in the holiday season
A lovely house
By Guest from Henstead on 05-Aug-2018A lovely house on a very quiet road. Everything we could possibly need was available inside and outside. The house is very spacious and fully equipped. The air conditioning was a blessing, much needed during this heatwave. The pool water was the warmest we had ever swam in. We were close to lots of leisure attractions, all within a short drive? We visited four beaches within a few miles, it was bliss swimming in the clear, blue Mediterannean. Also a lake where everyone, paddle boarded and rode pedalos. The visual splendour of Collioure was a favourite with all of us. We dined in several different places, the village restaurant, Cafe Artisan was very good, the proprietor speaks English. We walked there, some 600 steps, each way, quite a winding path and steep in places but a good workout. The children took there scooters.
A home from home
By Guest on 02-Oct-2018A home from home, we stayed here last year, and it was just as brilliant as we remembered this year. Beds really comfy, air con very efficient, pool delightful after a hot day out seeing the sights. Word of warning regarding the Saturday Market in Ceret, it is fabulous but you need to get there really early as parking is near impossible after 9am!
Promises a lot and does not disappoint
By virgiltwo on 02-Oct-2017House and pool were an excellent venue to spend the time when the mountains and Mediterranean weren't calling us . Local agents were very helpful and a fountain of local knowledge. Bedrooms are very spacious and bathrooms were plentiful and the whole villa was spotlessly clean on arrival. Would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
Fantastic and spacious property in the very pretty village of Laroque Des Alberes
By baileyp77 on 04-Sep-2017Our first time in this region of France and we had a really lovely stay. A very spacious property for a family of three. Very nicely furnished, maintained and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was catered for. Also a wonderful pool in the back garden where many an hour was spent cooling off. Laroque Des Alberes is a very pretty and quiet village with lots of character and charm. Very friendly people, excellent restaurants, wonderful architecture. Special mention to the monthly food and drink festival - Glorious!! Gorgeous beaches within easy driving distance and numerous other pretty villages to explore, Coilloure and Seret being 2 we visited. I would highly recommend this property and location for people wanting to explore this beautiful part of France. Merci Bien!
Laroque Holiday 2024
By Mr & Mrs Campbell on 27-Aug-2024We had a great holiday. As you knew we have been coming to Laroque or Sorede for many years - it became quite scary when we were working out how long. Overall this is the best villa we have stayed in. The house is a great design for a holiday. It was exceptionally well equipped and such attention to detail. We would love to be able to rent it next year.
