Magical Stay in a unique setting
By Mike on 19-Jul-2025We had a truly fantastic stay in this beautifully converted windmill near Monségur. Perched at the top of a hill, the setting is absolutely stunning, with far-reaching views over the surrounding vineyards. The breeze was a welcome companion during the hot days, making the outdoor spaces all the more enjoyable. The windmill itself is full of character and history — quirky in the best way — and we really appreciated its charm and uniqueness. It was a treat to stay somewhere so different and thoughtfully preserved. The swimming pool was a highlight — almost infinity-like in its outlook, offering superb views and a great spot to cool off and unwind. The hot tub under the stars was perfect for relaxed evenings and ideal for spotting satellites or just soaking up the peace and quiet. We slept incredibly well — the calmness and fresh air made for very restful nights. We also loved exploring the local area; Monségur has a lot to offer, from its lovely restaurants and welcoming market square to the lively daytime and evening food markets. It has a real old-world charm that’s both relaxing and full of life. Altogether, it was a wonderfully refreshing and memorable experience. We enjoyed every minute and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Ultimate Chill out!
By West M. on 06-Sep-2016We are a family of four with two teenage daughters. Our week at the Tour was absolutely idillic. We all came away feeling totally chilled out which was exactly what we where after. It was the most beautiful location with the most fantastic views over the vineyards, rustic and quirky and totally unique, which is what we adored about it. Having a swimming pool and hot tub to ourselves was the icing on the cake. Shops and restaurants within a short distance was ideal for us. Our week there just flew by and we where very sad to leave. The host Rita and her son, could not do enough for us. Rita even posting stuff to us that we had left behind. We would highly recommend that if you want to experience something unique, individual, small but perfectly formed, this is the place for you. We certainly plan to return very soon.
A little paradise
By Katrina F. on 23-Aug-2018We had a fantastic week at La tour. It was perfect for us and our two jack Russell dogs. We loved the views, the large garden area, the swimming pool and the hot tub. We enjoyed cooking food on the barbecue each evening. It was easy to get provisions from the charming town of Monsegur, where there is a small supermarket. We also went to La reole for a bigger supermarket and to get the vet treatment for our dogs before our return to the UK. We visited a charming market in Sauveterre. The views from the sail room were magnificent and watching the Monday night storm was amazing. Overall, we had fantastic weather. Our host Rita was very friendly and welcoming and gave us a much appreciated welcome basket, including those essentials such as toilet roll and shower gel as well as a pizza and salad, a bottle of bubbly and red wine and treats for the dogs. The information provided by Rita was also extremely helpful, informing us about where we could shop, when the local markets took place and the nearest vet. The holiday was a great getaway from our usual busy lives. We will definitely return.
