The Willow Tree Apartment is real gem. Linked to a large main house known as The Apple Orchard, it sits in beautiful grounds and has shared use of the large heated swimming pool. In responding to Covid-19, we have now established separate times for use of the pool and the pool area.
The owners of the property, Audrey and Peter Jakobsen, reside in the main house with their two children, Troy (17) and Ryan (15) and our wonderful Labrador Jody (6). The apartment is reached via its own separate gated entrance with parking for several cars. The living area incorporates a dining area, kitchen and lounge with doors leading to a private outdoor eating terrace within a walled courtyard garden. This open plan layout allows light and a sense of space to fill the room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons, the dining area houses a wood burning stove and the lounge provides a flat screen TV with Sky channels.
There are two bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment, one with a king sized double bed and the other with 2 single twin beds, both with en suite bathrooms with walk in power showers, wash basins and w.c.s. Their proximity apart allows for further privacy between the two bedrooms.
The apartment is completely separate to the main house, with its self contained facilities and separate entrance. The owners live on site so, whilst social distancing can be maintained, we will be happy to help you with anything during your stay. The pool is open between the months of June through to September (inclusive).
The owners have bicycles that you would be welcome to rent. These bicycles are serviced by Peter and fitted to your requirements. Please note that in order to rent bikes we need at least 24 hours notice along with your height.
We operate a serviced bike hub incorporating bike rental with France Bike Rentals, bike fit to your requirements, bike servicing and guided tours through our partner co. Provence Experiences. Please ask for more details.
The apartment provides secure parking for several vehicles and safe storage for bicycles.
The house itself is surrounded by apple orchards and fields with no direct neighbors. It lies on a quiet road and is within walking distance of the local village of Le Thor. The surrounding area is pretty flat so perfect for bike ride outs with children or cycling into Le Thor.

A good sized gite with excellent facilities

My wife and I are just completing a week’s stay in this 2 bedroom gite. We were warmly welcomed by Andrea on arrival and have enjoyed our time here. The gite is as advertised and offers good facilities. The weather has been hot (August/early September) but it has been very windy (Mistral) for three of our days. We have swum in the pool on most days and visited a number of local towns. We arrived by TGV and got slightly lost on route but it took only about 45 minutes to arrive here. A medium sized supermarket is about 10 minutes drive away.
Delightful holiday near Avignon

We had a delightful holiday in this property in Le Thor. It was just the right size for a family of four: cleverly designed to fit neatly into the floor space without feeling cramped. The apartment had everything we needed to live comfortably -- a good kitchen, two en-suite bathrooms, fans, air-conditioning (a Godsend in July) -- and the outdoor space was lovely. We had our own private terrace, and access to another terrace beside the swimming pool and family garden. Audrey and her family were a discreet and friendly presence around the place, and our children enjoyed bonding with the family dog. The swimming pool was large enough and warm enough to be the highlight of the holiday for our 13 year old. The property is in an excellent location for visiting Avignon, Arles, Orange, and the villages of the Luberon. It is also close to supermarkets and towns / villages with excellent food markets. I would recommend this property enthusiastically.

My wife and I have stayed at many rental apartments and houses across Europe, but none came close to our experience at the Willow Tree (our stay was in July-August 2017 - sorry we're writing this so late!). The location is perfect, making virtually everything to see in Provence (including beautiful and full of life Avignon, very close) 60 minutes away or less by car. The nearby small town of Le Thor (2 minute drive?) has all the shops you need, with a number of decent restaurants and take-outs. The apartment is simply perfect, with everything you might need.It offers lots of space and is very comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are impeccable. The kitchen is very well equipped and located at the center of it all. The grounds are very nice and sufficiently large for kids to play. The pool is fantastic and a few feet from the patio door. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace, right outside the living room/patio door. Being in the countryside, the surroundings were very quiet. The apartment is part of the hosts' home (ground level), but you wouldn't realize it as it has its own entrance (including its own gate to the property), its own terrace on the side of the house, in addition to the one near the pool. Our hosts Audrey and Peter were warm and charming, yet very discreet. So were their two sons, who were a pleasure to have around, but also very respectful of our tranquility. Audrey and Peter were always there if we had any questions or missing something. They were also very pleasant to chat and share a drink with (beer in the pool under 40 degrees ... aaaaaaaahhhhhh! :-) ). We could not recommend more and are hoping to visit again!

This was a very nice apartment and perfectly located near Avignon. It was very easy to tour and our host was very helpful in recommending outings. We will certainly come back and explore even more the region. We highly recommend this property.
