Les Mathes is on the beautiful west coastline with easily accessed sandy beaches. Cycling and walking are two of the main activities with miles of well maintained tracks through the woods and next to the sea and the area is great for boating and golf. There are lots of restaurants locally the most favoured are in the nearby quaint village of Mornach and by the sea front at La Palmyre.
