Description
La Grange is a beautiful, six bedroom home nestling in a quiet valley near the market towns of Magnac Laval, Limoges and Poitiers in this wonderful region of the Haute-Vienne. Dating back to the 18th Century and originally the Coach House to the neighbouring Chateau, with it's exposed beams and well trodden stairs, La Grange wraps you into it's embrace. Although many of it's original features have been retained, we offer our guests all "mod cons" including a new super swish dining kitchen, an eco-friendly wood fired hot tub and good wifi.... There are 3 bedrooms in the "old side" of the house, with a further 3 bedrooms in the "new side). The spacious living room is reminiscent of an old hunting lodge and is perfect for an afternoon snooze with a book.To the front of the house are the well-tended Mediterranean gardens with a good size private fenced swimming pool which can be heated upon request at an extra cost (which depends on the season - check with us). To the rear of the house are extensive lawned areas which are perfect for kicking a ball around or just lazing under one of the gnarled old trees. Use one of our complimentary bikes to ride into Magnac Laval for your morning croissants..............although La Grange is in a lovely quiet area, there is much to explore.........head to the local towns for weekly markets, restaurants and cafés; for more adventurous days drive 30 minutes to the sandy beaches of Lac St. Pardoux for water-skiing, canoeing, fishing and woodland walks.
Work up an appetite before heading home for your alfresco dinner under the setting sun. Perfection!

By Martine on 09-Jun-2025We had a great weekend with the family in this spacious and well-appointed barn. We enjoyed the well-stocked welcome basket. The kitchen is ideal for eating in large numbers and preparing meals with the family. The piano is great for cooks like us. Young and old enjoyed the garden games as well as the pool (very safe) and the jacuzzi. Very good welcome and advice from John and Fiona. It was perfect.
A large, very nice house
By Anne on 01-Jun-2025A large, very nice house for a group of 13 people. We took advantage of the many outdoor spaces, the swimming pool and the jacuzzi in a very quiet and natural environment. The rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen very functional. Thanks to John for his welcome, the hamper and his great responsiveness. I highly recommend it!
We had a perfect relaxing holiday
By Nicky Chubb on 09-Jul-2025We had a perfect relaxing family holiday and all felt refreshed by the end of our week. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and the scenery is beautiful and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome basket was a great touch after a long drive from Caen.
Really well set up for a week with friends or family.
By Alex Coles on 24-Aug-2024Great house for 2 families, perfect for what we wanted. Lots of seating areas, kitchen was really well equipped. Pool and hot tub awesome. Nearby lake is good for beach and water sports. Hosts were great and gave good recommendation for a food festival in a nearby town. The house is in a very peaceful location, surrounded by countryside, which was great most of the time but if you want restaurants or activities it’s a drive. I would recommend the house though as it’s really well set up for a week with friends or family.

It was perfect for a relaxing holiday for all members of the family. We would thoroughly recommend staying at La Grange, thank you Brian and also John and Fiona, who greeted us.
The house is beautiful in a great location.
