Overview
Description
Mountain Cottage is a gloriously secluded three bedroom stone cottage which blends into its own mountain with breath-taking views across Cardigan Bay. Within it’s old stone walls is your perfect hideaway - whether you are looking to explore the glory of Snowdonia or just have a relaxing break in unbeatable surroundings. we can promise the perfect rural escape. Downstairs is the hub of the house with full height beamed ceilings and a cosy wood burner surrounded by squashy sofa and armchairs. The kitchen has all that you need to cook up a storm. Window shutters keep you snuggly in the winter or flood the house with light in the summer. The super smart bathroom with walk in shower is a new addition. The house is heated by an ultra modern “hive” system that allows you to control the temperature. The attached “annex” with it’s own entrance has a king size bed, swish new bathroom with bath with shower over and a cosy woodburner. Upstairs, the two bedrooms (the Master with twin beds that zip together to make a king and the double bed which overlooks the living room) offer fine thread Egyptian cotton and snuggly blankets. Outside with those amazing views is a wooden trestle table and chairs for al fresco dining and……a small natural swimming pond is perfect for having a dip on sunny days. We are happy to accept a well behaved dog by prior arrangement.
Although you are completely secluded, there is much to explore in this glorious area of North Wales. The owner of the cottage is part of the Williams-Ellis family who, of course, designed the wonderfully quirky Italianiate village of Portmeirion!

Leave ReviewWe had a wonderful stay at Mountain Cottage
By Justin Humphreys on 19-Mar-2025We had a wonderful stay at the Mountain Cottage. It’s such an idyllic retreat in a stunning location, with panoramic views across the countryside. The cottage itself was beautifully presented—clean, cosy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rustic charm, combined with modern amenities, made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Tips for other travellers The surrounding area is breathtaking, with fantastic hiking trails right on the doorstep - such as Snowden. Whether you’re looking for outdoor activities or just a peaceful escape, this place has it all. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in North West Wales!

Underfloor heating in the bathroom & kitchen plus the log burner made the cottage very cozy. 4. The cottages are placed in a very strategic location for visiting key locations in less than 30 minutes. 5. Plenty of space for parking.
What a fantastic location - we chose well
By John Power on 11-Aug-2025We are a family of 5, What a fantastic location, we chose well , away from a rather charatureless suburban "cottages" we have been to before - we could see that this cottage has been much loved by the local owners, with very comfortable wet room - great for the children for a wash down - We were initially flummoxed by new Hive heating control Owner helped - though we didn't need the new central heating , we will when we book for our planned November break .
We had a wonderful week at Mountain Cottage
By Judi Brown on 22-Sep-2024We had a wonderful week at Mountain Cottage. The setting is superb with long range views towards Cardigan Bay and the mountains beyond. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and welcoming. We loved the peace and quiet but also that we were within an easy drive to beautiful places to visit and walk ~ Anglesey, Abersoch, Whistling Sands and slightly further, Harlech. It’s a really good base to explore the area from. We even enjoyed a ‘refreshing’ dip in the swimming pond!
