Description
Glencarron Lodge is a large 11 bedroom shooting lodge located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Comfortably sleeping up to 18 this group and family friendly house is open throughout the year to welcome guests looking to escape to the Scottish wilderness. The house, which is also dog friendly, has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout to ensure its traditional roots have been maintained, yet it is a comfortable holiday home perfect for a long weekend or longer summer holiday. The lodge has three double, seven twins (one of which can be a double) and one single bedroom, which share six bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite; two cots are also available for any infants. Downstairs Glencarron Lodge has a beautiful drawing room with open fire, where everyone can come together to enjoy relaxing evenings or celebrate a special occasion.
There is also a large dining room with table to seat up to 18, two games/childrens sitting rooms featuring a pool table and table tennis, where the youngsters can watch TV or take advantage of the WiFi.
The oak kitchen has been sympathetically modernised and includes an electric AGA, as well as a separate conventional cooker and a microwave, two dishwashers, three large fridges, a large freezer and a washing machine and tumble dryer. Finally the lodge has its own very useful drying room and a gun room.
The large Drawing Room is the first room guaranteed to capture your breath when entering Glencarron Lodge. The bright room with tall windows is magnificent and would not look out of place in a period drama. There are various sofas and armchairs for relaxing, and a large book case features some of the lodge's reading matter, including a book written by a previous owner, Lady Evelyn Cobold, who was the first british woman convert to make the pilgrimage to Mecca . The working fire place is a wonderful addition for colder months and helps keep the Drawing Room warm and cosy.
