Leave ReviewA sweet treasure of a cosy cottage
By Karlene and Scott Heath on 29-Oct-2025We absolutely loved staying in this lovely cottage. It is verh well placed for exploring the lakes and offered us a warm retreat during our stay with our dogs. The owners really have thought of everything so we didn't need to worry. A lovely welcome basket was out for our arrival and all the essentials were provided. A really sweet touch was the detailed information about the fascinating history of the cottage. It was peaceful, quaint and exactly what we were looking for.
Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location.
By Joanne Riddell on 25-Jul-2025We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage. Everything was absolutely spot on. The cottage is clean, very well equipped and charming. We explored Appleby which is just minutes away and travelled to Keswick and Ullswater. The booking process was easy with an immediate response from the owner Margaret who was very friendly and efficient throughout. There was a welcome gift which was very thoughtful. The cottage was very comfortable and nicely furnished. The garden was stunning with an array of established plants and it was lovely to sit out and relax and watch the many butterflies that visited the garden. We would recommend Groom's Cottage without hesitation.

Lovely Stay
By CJ on 14-Feb-2025A beautiful cottage set in a quiet village with a great little pub around the corner with friendly staff and good food. Situated just a short distance from Appleby with its lovely church and handful of shops which provide all the essentials and more. Margaret, the host, couldn't have been nicer and the thoughtful welcome bits & bobs were much appreciated and a lovely touch. The log burner is a fab bonus and kept the cottage toasty and cozy. Bliss :)
A real home away from home
By Adam & Andy on 21-Sep-2024We had a lovely relaxing holiday at Grooms Cottage. The cottage is a real home away from home and we had everything we needed for a weeks break walking in the surrounding hills, with our dog, and also visiting local towns such as Appleby. Welcoming gifts of wine and delicious biscuits were very much appreciated as was the plentiful supply of fuel for the traditional multi-fuel stove, which kept us warm and cosy throughout the week. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to unwind and get away from it all. We will be back!
