Set in the delightful Eden Valley, this charming, stone built cottage offers accommodation of great character with a cosy oak beamed interior. The Cottage is set in a quiet village location, with a country style pub just 200 yards from the cottage and serves excellent meals lovely sunday lunch. We have a local brewery nearby you will always be assured of a good pint of beer. The fuel station is less than 10minutes away, it has a small supermarket where you can buy a daily paper and any provisions.
The historic market town of Appleby has some excellent inns and restaurants. There is a Boots chemist and a Post office with ATM. A traditional greengrocers, an award winning butchers, deli and individual shops.
The 13th century Appleby Castle became the seat of the Clifford Family. The Castle was the preferred home of Lady Anne Clifford.
The grounds and Arms Houses are open to visitors in the summer months pre-book with the visitors centre at the Moot Hall.
The famous Settle to Carlisle railway runs through Appleby Station. You can park your car at the station and take in the beautiful scenery. Travel over the Ribblehead viaduct and on to Settle Skipton Leeds and Harrogate.
The Eden Valley is very popular with walkers and ornithologist's, also offers mountain biking pony trekking tennis golf and fishing.
Dufton Pike and High cup Nick are part of the Pennine way and are some of the many lovely walks in the Eden Valley.
The Lake District UNESCO heritage site the Yorkshire Dales and Hadrian's wall are with in easy reach. The Lake District National park
is only 30 minutes drive from the cottage where you can explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

The cottage has an open plan kitchen and lounge with a multi fuel stove keeping you cosy on cool evenings, all fuel is provided. The bathroom has a walk in shower toilet and heated towel rail.
A bedroom with a comfortable double bed a wardrobe and chest of draws.
All linen and towels are provided and a hairdryer. Off road parking for one vehicle.
The garden is a traditional cottage garden with a patio and seating area. A peaceful place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

Change over days are based on Saturday, Friday or Monday.


No children. Pets are Welcome with a small fee.

Warm welcome. Nice touches with wine, biscuits & chocolate. Garden ideal for our dog who thought she was at home! Just simply you could not find better.

A beautiful, clean and cosy cottage. There was everything you needed for a perfect stay. Margaret had left Wine, biscuits, chocs and a pint of milk which were all very much appreciated. Would certainly recommend Grooms Cottage.

Beautiful little cottage, very well presented, comfortable and spotless. Everything you need home from home, Margaret and Bob have done a fantastic job. The garden very well maintained and peaceful to sit in for cups of tea or wine Generous we’ll come gifts on arrival which was a lovely surprise after a long journey. Fresh milk in the fridge, tea coffee and sugar waiting for you. Nice pub up the road which served good food might need to book as can get fully booked quite quick No shop, nearest is in Appleby which not to far Beautiful country side, very peaceful and relaxing Have booked again for October this year and again July and September next year it’s that lovely
