Le Chai at La Realle is a charming, traditional stone building; it provides a cool, clean and modern interior within a traditional stone building. Although the building is set in a very PEACEFUL location with PANORAMIC VIEWS of the French countryside it is only a 10 MINUTE drive to reach SUPERMSRKETS, BARS and RESTAURANTS.
With an open covered veranda, shaded by trees, overlooking the French countryside (southwest facing) Le Chai is an ideal setting for enjoying the simple French outdoor lifestyle; eating local produce, reading, playing outdoor games (equipment provided) or relaxing in the sunshine. The beautifully maintained gardens (over 2 acres) provide plenty of space for play (Boules, badminton, football) and quiet shade for those who want to read and relax out of the sun.
The clean water mineral 10m pool is checked and daily and cleaned as required. Swimming pool loungers and towels are included.
There is a large barn for indoor table tennis and for storing your top boxes or bikes. The area is ideal for a cycling holiday.
A 'SMART' TV allows you to watch a range of UK Freesat channels. FREE Wi-Fi is available throughout the property via HIGH SPEED FIBRE BROAD BAND. 4G access is good
THE KITCHEN is excellently equipped
With 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms in the main house split across both floors there can be a 'natural' split in the accommodation giving space for friends and family holidaying together or for extended families; perhaps as grandparents, parents and grandchildren; the downstairs bedroom being ideal for those not wishing to climb the stairs and is popular with couples wanting to live on one level.
ALL bedrooms have DAYLIGHT BLINDS and are very quiet/ ALL windows have INSECT BLINDS. We use HOTEL quality bedding. No need to pack hairdryers as we provide hairdryers in all rooms. Bedroom 1 downstairs has a LARGE king-sized bed (1600mm/ 5' 4") and its own separate shower room with WC and sink. A door opening onto the garden provides beautiful views across the countryside. Ample space for a cot. The 2 double sized upstairs bedrooms are continental style - 4 single beds allowing for changes to configuration. In bedroom 2 a double or a super king can be available on request. ALL the bedrooms have FANS although the combination of stone walls and breeze through the upstairs windows usually keeps the Chai cool as long as guests keep blinds and windows shut during the day. BATHROOMS include shaving mirrors and PowerPoints and bath sheet sized towels. BIO cleaning products and shower products provided.

By Selina Horncastle on 25-Aug-2025La realle is a goog property with large downstairs rooms,well equipped and clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also good with comfortable beds and great linen. The pool was excellent with good views and kept spotlessly clean everyday. The view from terrace is totally unspoilt and we saw several species of birds and deer. Rachel and Bev were helpful all the way through the process of booking,arriving and when we were there. The location is great and the area around is interesting with plenty of places to visit.
Absolutely lovely

Great communication leading up to our holiday and they provided us with lots of helpful information about the local area as well as the property. The house itself is beautiful and the most well equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in, my mother-in-law was very impressed with the wide range of kitchen utensils and lovely crockery! All beds were very comfortable and the gite kept lovely and cool even on a hot day. We spent most of our time enjoying the beautiful gardens and view of the farmers fields beyond. It was very private and plenty of space to wander around in. The swimming pool is great too, spacious, nice temperature and not too many chemicals! Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay with welcoming, helpful and well organised hosts and we would be delighted to stay here again in the future.
An Amazing Holiday
By Sarah Goode on 27-Jul-2024My husband, eldest daughter and husband, our youngest daughter and her boyfriend and I stayed in Rachel and Bev’s gite for two weeks. We had the most wonderful stay. The gite was perfect for 6 adults, good sized bedrooms, lots of living space and a bonus of two shower rooms. The gite was so well equipped right down to a market bag and cutlery for the local night market. Everything we needed in the kitchen, dishwasher & a good sized fridge. The gite was spotless and Rachel and Bev provided ample bath towels and pool towels which was fab as it was so hot. On day one we had already decided to return in 2025 and booked before we left.
A perfect getaway
By Whitfield family on 26-Aug-2023Bav and Rachel have a beautifully appointed property in a fantastic location. As hosts, they were helpful and available but unobtrusive which we appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped and having the instructions for appliances was very helpful, not having to guess how the microwave works is brilliant. They also provided some useful starter items and treats. The bathrooms were well appointed and we had no issues with the plumbing (unlike other gites we have stayed). The place was spotless on arrival which again has not been our experience in other places and was clearly set up for us with the right number of pool loungers etc. The beds were very comfortable and made with high quality linens and similarly plenty of good quality towels were provided. The pool was immaculately kept by Bav and clear instructions given on how to cover it to help keep it warm. We enjoyed using it and all the inflatables and pool toys available. Plenty of shade was provided around the pool by up to 3 parasols and having them on wheels was pure genius. Special mention to the terrace which was perfectly equipped with good quality table and chairs and additional chairs for relaxing with a wonderful view across the valley - without doubt the best terrace we have had at any French gite. Our son appreciated the ping pong table in the games barn and the excellent wi-fi. Would highly recommend.
Perfect Holiday Getaway

From the initial enquiry through to the booking and then arrival info Rachel was extremely helpful and prompt with her responses to my questions. The property was immaculate and the surrounding gardens are lovely to sit in, take in the views and are very well tended. It was great to receive tomatoes and cucumbers from the veggie plot on arrival and throughout our stay they were very tasty! The pool was so clean thanks to Bev cleaning so diligently every morning. The house was very well equipped, the fans in the bedroom and the lounge were much appreciated during the first week when it was very warm. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels provided, especially appreciated the provision of pool towels saving us valuable luggage space. The location is great, within easy reach of a number of local supermarkets and the fabulous french markets. What more can we say, we loved it and wouldn''t hesitate to recommend, may even come back ourselves when we next plan a holiday to France!! Thanks Rachel and Bev
