A beautiful place to stay and so convenient for Lymington town and exploring the New Forest area. 5 minutes walk to the centre of Lymington with all its amenities, restaurants, pubs and shops, quay and marina. New Forest walks and cycling on the doorstep together with other places of interest. Ron and Sonja very welcoming. Look forward to a return visit.
We, two adults and a 9 year old child, stayed in Lilies Cottage for over two weeks and we can absolutely recommend it! It is a very cosy house, well equipped - everything was there to keep us going for the first few days without the need to go shopping immediately - and the cottage was very clean and tidy surrounded by a lovely garden. In Ron and Sonja we found very friendly and helpful hosts. They provide their guests with lots of information material about what to do and what to see in this beautiful area and they are very open to questions of all kind. We had a great time there. Lymington itself is not only a lovely little town with great restaurants and a splendid waterfront but also an ideal starting point for tours into the magic New Forest.
Lilies is a delightful cottage set in a lovely location. It feels secluded and as if you are 'in the country' but a short walk takes you into Lymington town. The cottage itself is well equipped, clean and well-maintained and the owners provide top notch customer service. Ron even saved us a table on the terrace at the Ship Inn on our first night in town! The second bedroom is small but we managed fine with an adult-sized teen and a 9 year old sharing so don't let it put you off. The gardens are gorgeous - very secluded and perfect for a glass of wine in the evening sun or a BBQ (which is provided of course!) Easy access to the forest and the south coast. We would highly recommend: Pony hack from Burley Villa (15 mins drive) - great service and gentle ponies and we were treated to some close-up wild foals. Beaulieu - a great day out. Something for everyone - expect to spend the whole day there. And take time to visit the nearby village of Beaulieu which is one of the prettiest we have ever visited. Mudeford Sandbank - we took the little train to the beach but Ron recommends the ferry from Mudeford. Either way, this is an excellent beach - great views, very picturesque and not overcrowded (even on the hottest day of the holidays).
