Description
La Fleureau stands in an elevated position (275m) with panoramic views of the Pyrenean and Black Mountains. It is surrounded by rolling countryside and known locally as 'little Tuscany'. Located in the 'pays de cocagne' (land of milk and honey, or should we say, red wine and duck!!!), 45 mins from Toulouse airport and 1 hour from Carcassonne, La Fleureau offers the perfect location for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.The Gite is of the highest standard combining traditional style with modern comforts. There are two private terraces, one with a stone-built barbecue, and garden. The accommodation has been recently restored using quality fittings throughout, retaining original stone walls. Oak flooring, doors and staircases have been added.
There is secured covered parking. A floodlit swimming pool (7.5m x 12m) with wide steps for ease of entry and shaded bar area are set in gardens with lawns, established shrubs and palm trees. The Japanese garden offers strolling and meditation areas. This all provides a superb, tranquil setting.
The Gite offers three spacious bedrooms, two with a double bed 1.5m wide and one with twin beds. Both have fully sprung mattresses and crisp cotton linen. Bathroom 1 has a jacuzzi bath, shower, twin wash hand basins and WC. Bathroom 2 has a bath, walk-in shower, twin wash hand basins and WC. Bathroom 3 has a shower, single hand basin and WC. Towels, for all bathrooms and swimming pool together with hairdryers, are provided. A cosy reading area can be found on the mezzanine level. Air conditioning is provided for your added comfort.
The fully-fitted kitchen is open plan with a breakfast bar and table and chairs. There is a utility room with washing machine and drying area. The lounge has comfortable seating for six with satellite English and French TV. There is also an iPod/iPhone docking station. Fiber internet/WiFi is available, free of charge, throughout the Gite / pool area. Smoke detectors, fire extinguisher and blanket are fitted.
The local towns of Albi, Gaillac and Cordes together with the wine growing areas, are all within easy reach. The historic, pretty town of Lavaur is a 10 mins drive and the nearest town for shopping. It is particularly worth visiting on market days.
The entire property is non-smoking and only suitable for children over 14 years. The English owners live in the main house together with a very laid back Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. French and Spanish are also spoken. A warm welcome and true hospitality await you at La Fleureau.

We had sole use of an excellamt pool and very supportive and helpfull hosts If the weather turns you simply go and visit a choice a fun options The local area was picturesque and what you would hope France would be like
Back again and even better...

The location is fantastic and the experiences within an hour or so's drive are endless. We still have so much to see. There really is the best of France on your doorstep if you want it. As for the gite, everything, including Ian and Carol's hospitality, makes for a place to truly relax when you aren't visiting some of the fantastic towns in the area. The gite itself is well equipped with plenty of space inside and out and everything to make your stay comfortable has been thought of. The pool area is spacious and chilled and how many places include your own private bar to stock and use?! Lavaur, the closest town, is within easy reach having everything you need such as supermarkets, shopping, a market and some great restaurants. All in all a brilliant holiday and we can't recommend La Fleureau enough. We will be back again without a doubt. Thank you Ian and Carol, we look forward to sharing another glass of wine with you soon.

The Gite was spotless, contained every home comfort you could wish for, bed linen was excellent quality, pool area, outside bar and grounds amazing and property has country views to die for. We had the most wonderful time, unfortunately we were not there for long enough and have already booked for next year. If only all Gites could be of this standard. Ian & Carol we salute you and cannot wait to visit again. Thank you so much the Grogan’s.
Luxurious, relaxing & welcoming stay

We absolutely love coming to stay here, Carol & Ian are such welcoming hosts and go out of their way to assist IF required. Everything about La Fleureau is harmonious and it’s very easy to relax and enjoy the charms of the surroundings. We love cooking and enjoy shopping locally in Lavaur and then making good use of the very well equipped kitchens in both gites. The pool and pool area are fantastic along with the Japanese gardens if you want to escape the sunshine. We will continue to visit La Fleureau as it feels like a home from home.

By Phillip and Sally Hartley on 13-Aug-2022''Wow'' from the moment we arrived for the week until we left ''wow'' was the word. Whether it be the beautiful location and views, the wonderful gite, the pool, or the high standard and quality of everything, ''wow'' was the word. We have stayed in many gites, chateaux and villas over the years but this is the best by far. But it did not end there. The place is special and lovely but what makes it the best are Ian and Carol ( oh and not forgetting Pacha either), hosts who know how to provide support, help and warm friendship if and when needed. Their vision, style and years of honing the high standard makes la Fleureau the wonderful, tranquil place it is. Somewhere we won''t forget and hope to enjoy again. P.S. Sally says if you ever need a dog sitter for Pacha please let us know!

Our hosts were welcoming and only too happy to assist with information about where to visit and what to do. They booked us two exceptional restaurants. The pool was lovely and the grounds restful. Would definitely recommend and hopefully go back another year.
