Situated between Lustleigh, North Bovey ; two idyllic Devon villages - Manaton is secluded and beautiful with walks around to Becky Falls the old church and Manaton rocks. Great views of the surrounding hills, including Black Hill. Plenty of sporting opportunities with golf courses in Bovey, water sports including
canoeing and increasing interest in cycling routes plus a great cyclist friendly cafe in Bovey.
The gateway to fabulous circular walks over to Hay Tor, Hound Tor and The Bowerman's Nose is only 4.5 miles away.
History is everywhere from the mysterious Jay's grave in Manaton, the St Pancras Church at Widdecombe -in -the- Moor, the neolithic village remains at Grimspound. Castles at Powderham and Compton Castle are a short drive away.
Teignmouth seaside is around 13 miles away, Torbay is a little further. Moretonhampstead Miniature Pony Park is a lovely attraction nearby.
There are many activities run by the National Park, such as; organised rambles or themed walks all led by experienced guides.
Yarner Wood is a special wild bird area with hides available to bird watch over the beautiful valley and many woodland events and activities are organised.
