Leave ReviewLovely property and wonderful, relaxing garden
By Stella Beasley and family on 17-Aug-2025Family of four adults had a very relaxing week in Normandie Nest. Lots of space for everyone. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. Spacious garden with seating to catch the sun at any time of day. Plenty of interesting places to visit within short driving distance. Friendly, local tabac and shop came in handy on several occasions.
Quiet, quirky retreat.
By Ian Roberts on 05-Sep-2024In the interest of fairness, I would highlight that our stay followed significant bad weather in the area with storms and prolonged heavy rain. Perhaps as a result of this, there were some issues with dampness and mould. The house is large and the grounds are substantial. The wood burner was great . . . and for us an absolute necessity. The property is very quirky. Some may find this appealing, others may not. We encountered lots of dust and cobwebs, but this could be as a result of the location. However, perhaps a more thorough cleaning regime may help.

Thanks for your review. Remedial work post-storm is complete – as an old house on marshland it’s unusual but ideal for guests who prefer something different
Lovely comfortable home in a lovely part of France
By Kenneth Mackenzie on 31-Jul-2024Seamless and most enjoyable communications with the owner from our original inquiry regarding availability through the conclusion set the tone for our stay. The information package was the most complete and accurate AND helpful that we have seen in all our travels. Justine's house is truly a home and exceeded all our expectations. All basic supplies were provided and we made use of the lovely grounds and surrounding countryside. We were 4 adults and enjoyed all the mod coms that this truly comfortable home provided. We recommend Justine's home unreservedly.
Family holiday
By Susannah on 06-Apr-2024We had such a wonderful time at Normandie Nest. The location is perfect - very easy to access a wide range of D Day sites and museums, as well as Bayeux, and an easy drive to Carentan train station, allowing us to take the train to Paris for a day trip. The cottage itself is very comfortable - a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious yet cosy sitting and dining room, very pleasant bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms! A fabulous selection of books to browse and lovely garden (with swings) meant that it was also brilliant just to spend the day “at home”. We would really love to come back another time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Normandie Nest to friends and family. Thank you so much, Justine!
Lovely Property
By The Cloughs on 24-Aug-2023The house had everything we expected and more! The location was fabulous allowing us to easily explore the whole of Normandy. The information pack supplied by the owner Justine more than met our needs. Justine went above and beyond answering our queries without delay and in a very friendly way - thank you Justine.
Gorgeous house
By Kath on 30-Jul-2023I came across the Normandie Nest while looking for a holiday house that would be different than a bland magnolia IKEA airbnb that could be anywhere, and it was perfect. The whole house is beautiful and full of history and art, a lovely place to spend time as well as use as a base for exploration. We really appreciated the well appointed kitchen - it might be the first time we've genuinely cooked on holiday as we would at home. We loved making big feasts for us - with young kids we actually didn't eat out the entire fortnight but it didn't feel like we were missing out because there was so much local produce to cook with.
