The best holiday accommodation I have stayed in.

By Simonlade on 11-May-2024

Lovely secluded property far enough from everywhere to guarantee tranquillity but close enough that there are plenty of attractions and towns not too far away. The pictures only do a partial justice to this fantastic property. While it shows the character and beautiful nature of the house it does not show just how big the property is. The bedrooms are all very large and the property is perfectly equipped. The only small negative I would have is phone reception is not the best and the WiFi is functional but when I am on holiday a little bit of escapism is fine by me! The owners Stephen and Brenda communicate very quickly when you have any questions and while they live on the same farmland and are there if you need them they just let you crack on. The land in and around the property is also beautiful and just sitting in the garden having a cup of coffee is an absolute treat every time. Thank you Stephen & Brenda for a fantastic stay and please give Eric a pat from me. Simon, Imogen & the rest of the Lade clan

Lovely stay

The farmhouse is beautiful and in a lovely location. We had a really nice and relaxing stay. Plenty of great places and beaches to visit nearby. The owner was very welcoming.

Much more than it says on the tin ...

We had a fabulous Christmas at Colmer Farmhouse. As soon as you walk through the massive stable door into the flagstone floor kitchen you feel at home. It's very rare when a rental property actually looks so much better in reality than on the photos. The rooms are large and everything you need is there. The wood burner and Aga make the whole house toasty and warm The enclosed garden is perfect if you have 4 legged friends with you and there are also plenty of walks from the property. If you can't do without wifi - the connection is good, especially if you sit in the window seat by the wood burner - but if were you, try to forget technology and just enjoy being there. Living on a huge estate I'd forgotten just how completely dark it is in the country so a torch is handy if you're venturing out at night. The horses in the yard in the mornings were a real delight to watch.

Beautiful grade 2 farmhouse.

Step back in time in this lovely quirky farmhouse. Loads of original features with old flagstone floors and diddy windows. Very cosy in the evenings. Stunning views. Toastie warm aga. Bathroom is dated but totally fit for purpose. Tranquil and far from the maddening crowds. An ideal base. A lovely stay thank you x

Always sad to leave

Colmer Farm is set in the most stunning of Dorset's rural locations. The views across the Marshwood Vale are unequalled. We especially love the winding journey from Bridport to Colmer via Broadoak. Above and beyond the countryside is the lovely cosy farmhouse which is perfect for families who want some downtime away from busy schedules. We were lucky to enjoy glorious weather and made the most of it swimming in the sea on every opportunity. If you have the sun it is equal to the Med. Be back next summer. Can't wait....

Beautiful

What can I say? This place is just stunning. Quirky old features. I even got to cook on an Aga which I enjoyed too! Our neighbours were some beautiful horses who my daughter enjoyed talking to every morning. Dog friendly too, our 2 Labradors loved the stay too, snuggling up in front of the warm Aga. The owners gave us a warm welcome and looked after us during our stay. We would definitely return here any time of the year!
