Home from home
By Chris and Keith on 03-Jun-2024We had a lovely stay at Thimble cottage. The owner has gone above and beyond to make the cottage comfortable with so many thoughtful touches to make our stay special . The courtyard garden was a sun trap which was so peaceful,a lovely area to have breakfast or to sit and read . Thimbles close proximity to the busy harbour and cafes and restaurants made it a perfect destination.. Thank you Fiona.
Fantastic Location!!
By Stuart & Family - Easter Break on 29-Mar-2024My wife, 2 children (Aged 8 & 6) and I have just finished a week staying at Thimble cottage. I cannot fault the property, it was a warm, cosy and welcoming house which has been lovingly restored. Above all for me the location was perfect, within 1 minute walk of the house you are in the harbour and with the weather being changeable we always had the option to head back to the house for lunch or dinner. The views from the top floor of the house are great and we enjoyed an early morning walk around the harbour watching the sun rise before heading back to the house for breakfast. Some great places to eat or just have a drink and play games or cards as a family. It was great not to have to drive each day as the location was so good. Fiona was really responsive to any questions prior to our stay but during our stay there were no issues. We will certainly be coming back, thanks Fiona for letting us stay.
Perfect cottage in the most beautiful location!
By The Scottow’s on 19-Aug-2023We had a perfect week in the wonderful Thimble cottage. Everything with Thimble was brilliant, so clean and had everything we needed and more! The neighbours were helpful and friendly and the owners were so informative about everything. Simply perfect, as is the location. Would highly recommend.
Sweet cottage only a minute walk from the harbour front
By Gilly Waugh on 12-Aug-2023We really enjoyed our weeks stay in August. The cottage was furnished in a pretty seaside style and there were lots of nautical touches in each room. Beds and duvets super comfy and shower nice and powerful. The little terrace at the rear is charming, with no sea view but a lovely space for a bbq or drink. Good views over the roof tops to the harbour from 2nd floor in particular. Less so from 1st floor living room. We're tall so needed to duck a few times on the 2nd floor landing as beams low but once in bedroom no issues with height. Its less than a minute to walk to the harbour which was great. Parking isn't far. Less than 10 minute walk and flat until the path to cottage. Mevagissey is lovely, quite small but has enough to do, lots of shops and some lovely boutiques. Around the harbour are some fab pop up fish cafes - salt and pepper squid - yum.
Family holiday
By Elizabeth Whittingham on 22-Jul-2023We stayed at the lovely Thimble Cottage in Mevagissey for a week. The cottage is lovely, very clean and well furnished. It is in an ideal spot - not too much of a steep climb to get to it and right in the heart of the harbour. There is plenty to do both in Mevagissey and the surrounding area. Great communication from the owner. Definitely recommend.
Thimble cottage
By Carolyn on 12-Jun-2023On the plus side we found the cottage comfortable and very well appointed with many extra items that made a huge difference, such as hairdryers and torches, plenty of hangers and kitchen items. A slight point for improvement would be to either state or show in the photos the steps leading to the front door. They were not a problem to us but I can imagine to some they may be
