Description

The Old Workshop, Milfield is a fully modernised cottage, with accommodation on a single level. The village of Milfield is a typical Northumbrian village with a thriving pub, cafe and country store all within a 2 minute walk.

Centrally located in north Northumberland, Milfield is within striking distance of the dramatic coastline (including Holy Island, Seahouses and Bamburgh) as well as the Cheviots for walkers and both the Till and the Tweed for fishing.

The cottage sleeps up to 5 people in 3 bedrooms and is well-equipped with everything you need to make your stay a relaxing and enjoyable one. We completely renovated The Old Workshop in 2023 and tweaked the layout to accommodate a second bathroom, making the cottage an ideal space to explore Northumberland from...

Sitting Room & Dining
The comfortable sofas are a great place to relax and unwind with a drink or watch a film on the Smart TV. There’s a log burner for the cooler evenings (fuel for this is included) and plenty of space for the whole family to get together. The large dining table gives our guests chance to get together for a lazy meal, or play a board game from a selection in the cotttage.

Kitchen
The modern kitchen is fully equipped, with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and plenty of cutlery and crockery.

King Bedroom
A comfortable king-sized bed with reading lamps on tables to either side and views to the garden. The wardrobe provides plenty of space for your holiday wear. There is also a dressing table with mirror and hair dryer.

Bedding and linen is provided within the rental cost.

En Suite
Off the king bedroom, there is an en suite shower room comprising of rainfall and adjustable shower heads, basin and loo. A heated towel rail and light up vanity mirror complete the space.

We provide hand towels, bathmats and guest bath towels as standard within the rental cost.

Twin Room
A light and airy room with full-sized single beds and double duvets for extra cosiness! Each bed has its own bedside table and reading lamp. Again, with wardrobe and dressing table with mirror and hair dryer.

Single Room
A quiet space for one, overlooking the garden with a small double bed - a little more wriggle room! Bedside table with reading lamp and a freestanding wardrobe.

Bathroom
This large and bright bathroom accommodates a bath, separate walk-in shower enclosure with rainfall and adjustable shower heads, basin and loo. Again, with heated towel rail and light up vanity mirror.

Outside
Hidden away behind the cottage is a private courtyard with neatly tended beds. The garden can be accessed from the dining area and has outdoor seating, table and a barbecue for those warmer evenings. A super spot to sit, read and relax.

Fantastic cottage for a few days break with plenty to do in the area.

By Davina Brown on 10-Sep-2024

Fantastic cottage for a few days break with plenty to do in the area. It's small but laid out really well so it still feels spacious enough for a family. Everything looks brand new and it has a very modern and trendy feel so we had a fab stay. Loved sitting out in the sun in the patio area - and hope to go back in winter to use the wood burner!

Great property and ideal location for exploring.

Great property and ideal location for exploring. All the rooms were ideal and well refurbished. Our only comments would be that the hot taps to all sinks get too hot and are dangerous for children and that the bedrooms would benefit from black out blinds as it gets bright very early

This is wonderful accommodation for a relaxing holiday.

By Susan Richardson on 26-Sep-2021

This is wonderful accommodation for a relaxing holiday. The Old Workshop is comfortably furnished, spacious and incredibly well-equipped in the kitchen area with cookware, cutlery, crockery and glassware. The house was spotlessly clean and everything was easy to manage. Although it is set just off the main road of the village the sensitively installed triple glazing at the front means it is very quiet. A small, pleasant garden captures the sun at different times of the day. We had a fantastic few days and would love to return to explore more of this fascinating area.

A little piece of heaven has been found in Northumbria.

A little piece of heaven has been found in Northumbria. There are not enough stars to rate this property, it has everything you need for a holiday. All one level, it’s very easy for those with impaired mobility, it’s beautifully presented, spacious and very clean. The owner and her team were so accommodating and the communication was spot on. My dad, who’s mobility is very limited needed a commode and the owner, without hesitation, bought one. This gesture was hugely appreciated. Whichever type of holiday is required (getting away from it all, relaxing, sight seeing, action packed) it’s perfectly located for all needs. I highly recommend this property.

Lovely clean high standard accomodation. Spacious and quiet.

By Sue Clarke on 04-Jul-2022

Lovely clean high standard accomodation. Spacious and quiet. Well equipped. Garden large. Only downside to property was the lack of view from the garden. Borders well established but NO herbs as mentioned. Despite the road being close the high quality extra glazing kept it quiet, it wasn't really busy anyway. Lots to do in the area with maps and brochures helping to find day trips. Do try the wool prodcer at Whistlebare. Very good cream tea in Etal. Just booked sister house on Lindisfarne for next year!
