Thank you Bob and Marlene. A fantastic place to stay. We all really enjoyed staying here. The kids loved it! We hope to come back one day! Mark Watch for lizards there is a lot. The swimming pool is cold but it warms up. Check on the side of the pingpong table for bats and balls. Eddie Age 8.
Jayan has proved to be fantastic home for all of us. The grand children had endless fun around the pool and table tennis tournaments galore. It really is a retreat for everyone and enjoyed the great weather. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home. We very much appreciated the hamper and home comforts and also the help you have us when we needed help with Taxis and when we got lost! One of the highlights was the medieval festival at Monflanquin. It was spectacular and something we will all remember, and the pool well it is fantastic. We hope to return one day. So we hoped to be back at lovely Jayan and here we are having had a fabulous 2 weeks here, almost 2 years on from our first visit. Home-from-home, we have loved being bak here, especially as we've been joined this time by our children, and their partners, friends and our grand-daughter (of 4 months) on her first holiday. As soon as they left, their sister and husband joined us for a few days and fell in love with Jayan too! This time we saw more of Issigeac - lovely shops and cafes there - and we enjoyed the (very good) market at Villereal - Monflanquins night market was fabulous - we went 2 weeks running - SO good. The pool is a godsend, especially at the end of the afternoons/early evenings - our kids especially made the most of it!! We have everything we need here. Several supermarket visits (Montayral L'Eclerc is best!) kept us topped up with good food and wind, especially copious amounts of Rose! Jayan really is special - thank you Bob and Marlene for sharing your home with us.. who knows, maybe we'll be back... Helen and Norman Nichols
Just WOW! From the moment we found Jayan online Bob and Marlene have been so helpful - super hosts! Nothing too much trouble, helping us with local vets, allowing friends to stay for 2 nights as they travelled through France. The house is welcoming, so much space and fantastically equipped! The best we have stayed in. Now the pool... Morning, afternoon, evening the pool has been amazing. Many hours using floats and super soakers! Sun terraces just devine! So peaceful and remote yet only 15 mins to Monflanquin, where many crepes, pastries and great food was ate, people have been so friendly, very different from other areas of France we have stayed, we have falled in love with the area. Refreshed, relaxed, sun splashes, sploshes, late nights, lie ins, calm, quiet, fun.... the list goes on... We are sad to be leaving but hope very much to return in the next few years. We have had a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay in Jayan. Our three young adults were in desperate need of some peace and quiet after some very busy and stressful working weeks in the UK, so Jayan and the beautiful surroundings were just what was needed to recharge their batteries. The house is beautiful and so very well equipped that we were reluctant to leave it during our visit but we did go to Villereal, Monflanquin and Lacapelle Biron and the Chateaux at Biron. Our family had spent many holidays in Lacapelle Biron during the 1990s so it was lovely to revisit old haunts. We loved the pool and spent most of our holiday over or around it. We haven't ventured far from Jayan - but it's been the perfect break from London life. We've enjoyed the birds, the abundance of butterflies and our tailless lizard guarding the front steps. The pool is definitely one of the best we've ever had; the house is charming and well cared for and equipped. All in all, a great holiday and we're sorry to be leaving. Thanks, Joyce & Howard
