Please contact us for last minute and low season deals.The Cowshed is quality accommodation, quirky yet spacious, a 15-20 minute walk to a range of local amenities including a small supermarket, deli, bakers, butchers, chemist, Post Office, cafes, & good pubs. Short drive to oen moor, for tors, rivers, walks and there is a castle nearby.
There are lovely country views from the property both to the front and rear.
There are pine floors throughout.
Downstairs there is a large open plan living area with a log-burner and a newly fitted kitchen, fully tiled wet room with heated floor, large sunny, private courtyard with side entrance door.
Upstairs is the open plan bedroom, with original beamed vaulted ceiling, sitting area (sofa bed) and balcony with seating perfect for breakfast and evening drinks, watching the sun go down. NHS discount for low season stays.

By Robert on 06-Aug-2025Great location in the country, just outside Moretonhamstead. Fantastic spacious and comfortable bedroom on the first floor with balcony to sit in the evening and listen to the birds and the trees. Living space and kitchen - all very well equipped and tastefully decorated.
Peaceful stay in Dartmoor

Beautiful cozy stay
By Caroline on 25-Apr-2025The Cowshed is absolutely stunning and very cozy with a fireplace and all the amenities you need (even heated floors in the bathroom). The place was clean and warm. The host, Wendy, was very welcoming and gave us many recommendations on walks and pubs in the area. We didn't have a car, but the property is very well located just 20 minute walk from the village for groceries and restaurants, and many beautiful Dartmoor paths (Hunter's and Fisherman's path, Castle Drogo, North Bovey, Easdon Tor) are close by. Wendy was also extremely helpful in helping us find a taxi when none were available on a bank holiday.
Pleasant stay on Dartmoor

Space was for the four of us more than enough. The position was perfect to get within not a lot of time by car anywhere else in Dartmoor. If we will return to Dartmoor, for sure there again
