Leave ReviewFunctional holiday let in an idealic spot
By Karl818 on 16-Jan-2017Stayed here over the Christmas period for four nights. Just outside Porthmadog in a small village within walking distance of Black Rock Sands. The property was clean and tidy and well presented. The kitchen/dining/living area is functional and easy to keep clean. Upstairs, the two bedrooms are cosy with plenty of windows making it light and airy. One room is a double the other is a twin with a third bed at one end. Take plenty of one and two pound coins as everything is electric and you use a coin fed meter. Once you get the place warmed up the electric usage calms down and you find you don't use as much money in the meter. There is a large supermarket in walking distance which is very handy. Also a chippy, however this was closed until March 2017. Plenty of places to go walking from the holiday let, the beach is wonderful. There is also a golf course across the road. On the morning of our departure the cleaners were next door, getting it ready for the next lot of guests. Incidentally, you can hire both holiday lets for larger family or groups as there is a lockable door that connects the two lets from inside. On the whole, an enjoyable stay. It would be good though if the owners provided an info pack on the place as there are a lot of switches dotted around for you to use before certain things like the towel rail, hot water and cooker hob can be used.
Lovely stay in
By Burnsey2607 on 04-Jun-2017We booked both cottages for two families plus a small dog. The renovations made to the properties are well thought-out and sympathetic. There are modern appliances and the internet/TV worked well in an area where mobile signals are weak. Convenient location and easy to find and are approx 30 mins drive to the car park for Pyg Tack on Snowdon. Each cottage can comfortably sleep 5 people and there is parking for 2-3 cars easily. We would book either/both again and would recommend them to others.
Fabulous house, very spacious and great location
By LightPacker713233 on 04-Jun-2017We went with a family of 5 and a dog . Plenty of space for all of us, bedrooms big and comfy beds. Lots of games to play if you want to and plenty of info regarding information around the area. Large kitchen diner and lounge.
Couldn't be better
By Martin on 20-Jun-2017This is the second time we have stayed. This time the whole family came (and Sammy the dog) so we booked Gest Melyn and the adjoining property. As before we found the properties absolutely spotless. You could have eaten off the floors. The accommodation is great, the position could not be better. The Owner has thought of everything with ample utensils, plates, glasses and even games. It is such a great place to stay. A massive sandy beach is a short walk away. The local shop is 100 meters away. It a good centre for exploring. I think you get my drift. Can't think of a bad word to say about it. We are already looking at dates for next year.
Comfortable cottage - 5 mins from a glorious beach
By 25degc on 24-Jul-2017Cottage was ideal for the 3 of us. Everything worked well, and the electricity meter didn't eat up as much money as we feared (so long as you remember to turn the water off!). The nearby beach was amazing, and the location was great for accessing Snowdonia - Ceod y Brenin, Surf Snowdonia, Velocity Zip World, Cearnafon, Harlech were all trips we made. It would be good if there were some instructions for the oven (though we worked it out in the end), and maybe a visitors book for recommendations for local excursions, restaurants etc. Some drawers in the bedrooms and a shelf in the bathroom would be useful additions...
Perfect holiday let
By Tiff on 22-Aug-2017The location is right by our favourite beach black rock so that was a good start. It's lovely from the outside just as nice on the inside. The windows upstairs are a great feature. Parking is good plenty of space. All you need is in the house. It's like a home away from home. Kids settled there straight away. The views are beautiful out the front. Many times we caught the kids sat in our room watching the golf. The shops are local all very handy and a Tesco's just up the road also Aldi and Lidl. Habour not far for a nice evening walk. Would definitely stay again.
