Description
3 Rockham View is a family-friendly holiday home in North Devon. Our holiday home is in the delightful village of Mortehoe, a few steps from the South West Coast Path with fantastic views over the countryside to the Bristol Channel. A village shop, post office, fish and chip shop, tea room, and two pleasant pubs are not even a five-minute stroll from the door, with more amenities just over a mile away in Woolacombe. There is space for six people to sleep in three double bedrooms with a layout to suit friends or families, including those with children and pets. The cottage is comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen/diner us is currently being modernised and new flooring being laid throught the ground floor. Photos soon!
We are keen to minimize our carbon footprint, so use recycled and upcycled furniture and equipment where possible, so crockery and cutlery may not always match but will always be good quality and in very good condition.
we welcome up to dogs and there is a small enclosed courtyard garden to the rear.
There is a private garden and off-street parking for two cars in a location that's perfect for enjoying the beauty of the North Devon coast and beyond.
Mortehoe can sometimes be overlooked in favour of its more prominent neighbour, Woolacombe. Their loss is your gain because it means you don't have to share this pretty village with summer crowds. Mortehoe sits quietly on rugged, rocky cliffs. It dates back centuries - further than the Domesday Book, gaining a reputation as a hot spot for smugglers who lured passing ships onto the rocks so they could scavenge booty from the wreckage! The Mortehoe Museum is a great place to learn about the people and events that shaped the landscape. Walk along the South West Coastal Path to Morte Point for incredible views of Woolacombe Bay, Baggy Point and Hartland Point, continuing past Rockham Bay to the lighthouse at Bull Point, Sandy Cove and the quaint pub at Lee.
North Devon has dozens of stunning beaches, secluded coves and places to spread your beach towel and soak up the sunshine. Woolacombe's beach is a heavenly three miles of soft sand backed by a buzzing village, dunes, and a row of beach huts with brightly coloured shutters. You can walk along the beach to Barricane, Combesgate and Putsborough, stopping when a pub or cafe takes your fancy. Other attractions include Ilfracombe, the Broomhill Sculpture Garden and Arts Centre, Marwood Gardens, Exmoor National Park, and the Lynton and Lynmouth cliff railway.
