Description

Heron House is a beautifully positioned three-storey riverside house located at Island Harbour Marina, on the banks of the River Medina in the peaceful hamlet of Binfield. Ideally situated halfway between the County Town of Newport and Cowes, it offers a perfect base to explore the Isle of Wight while enjoying a tranquil waterside setting.

This modern holiday home enjoys lovely marina and river views and benefits from two spacious balconies overlooking moored yachts, green open spaces, and the Medina beyond. Arranged over three floors, the house provides generous living space and a real sense of privacy — ideal for families and groups.

Heron House offers three comfortable bedrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements, including two double bedrooms (one with en-suite facilities on the top floor) and one zip-and-link bedroom, which can be configured as either a king-size bed or twin singles. This versatility makes the property ideal for friends, couples, or multi-generational families. A family-sized bathroom, an additional shower room, and a ground-floor WC ensure comfort and convenience for all guests.

On the ground floor there is also a separate room with a desk, making it ideal for guests who wish to work remotely — allowing you to enjoy the island after a days work in the evenings. This room is fitted with blinds and, for those needing extra sleeping space, can alternatively accommodate a guest’s own airbed and bedding, effectively offering the option to use the property as a four-bedroom house.

For boating enthusiasts, there is the added bonus of a private berth for vessels up to 10 metres (available at an additional cost), located directly outside the property — allowing you to sail straight to your holiday home. If you’re planning a visit to Cowes, the water taxi provides a relaxed and scenic way to travel, with easy drop-off and collection, removing the need to drive or worry about parking.

Thanks to its central island location, Heron House makes it easy to chase the sunshine. With the Isle of Wight’s unique microclimate, the weather can vary from one side of the island to the other — meaning you’re perfectly placed to head to whichever coast is enjoying the best conditions. Beautiful beaches in every direction are within around 20 minutes’ drive, helping you make the most of the good weather during your stay.

Island Harbour is also a fantastic location for walkers, with scenic routes directly from the doorstep leading to Whippingham, East Cowes, and Newport. Newport, just a 10-minute drive away, is the island’s County Town and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema complex, theatre, live music venues, and an arts centre right on the quay.

Perfectly placed yet peacefully tucked away, Heron House allows you to enjoy all the Isle of Wight has to offer while returning to a calm and relaxing waterside retreat.
